Alot of people hate him because he tends to be too serious and emo. I'm a fan of him though. :3

Easily manipulable, mentally week and unstable. Mmmm, I'd say those are one of the reasons why I think people doesn't like him.
Me on the other hand...personality aside, I think his character design and overall traits make him very like-able.

In his fight with Killerbee he thought about Team 7 again..
And when Gaara was talking to him during the Kages summit, he said something like "what would there be for me to go back to?"
So at least I think his train of thought is that no one in the village would ever accept him back -- how Naruto could pull this off is anyones guess...
the fact that he doesn't have the courage to face what he did (even though he might want to) -- thinking he has taken a path and can't go back -- that is what makes people hate him most I think -- not the emo stuff

I hate him basically because if you think about it hes just killing his brother's wishes if there was itachi's wish. uselessly stubborn about destroying konoha when that village kept him alive, but eh thats debatable. hes just obsessively on one train of thought which is kinda funny in a sympathical kinda way. Eh he just annoys me basically

At least he didn't hyperventilate ^^ That was one lame thing to do.
Sasuke is kickass, the other characters are lame(except Madara who is even more uber coz he can mainpulate time space and Sasuke). They think that they can meddle with his life for their own purposes. Their purposes arent so different in their selfishness than Sasukes. They are hypocrites.

I hate Naruto way more than Sasuke....Naruto's just too damned pussy. Sasuske this, Sasuke that, ugh 
Anywayz, i personally don't know why people would hate on Sasuke, not a major fan, but gotta admit he has some cool skills and makes everything look effortless.
But Naruto only has his Kage Bunshins, Rasengan and Sexy no Jutsu.
Sage Mode and Nine Tails mode...quite cool, but come on....

but Luffy is ranked first on the character popularity survay while Naruto never is
this isn't about popularity, it's about the likableness of characters.
i think it's precisely the fact that naruto and Sasuke are such a typical shonen character that there are some haters out there

I think its because he acts all cool and mighty, he also keeps on complaining about how tough his life is compared to naruto, in my opinion naruto's life was way worse  , he's also kinda emo (keeps wearing dark colours...etc)

After all the other reasons, I won't care to list, the final one:
Is because of this manga that the Yaoi demographis exploded and has polluted the minds of millions of poor girls.
Because boyxboy love IS NOT like thatn FUCK Yaoi gives the dialogs of a girl to the draw of a boy.
Deep down that 'boy' is a girl and you all know it.
But really why hate the draw when we can hate the man behind it?
I hate kishimoto and I wish him a painful dead, his brother would then pick up Naruto and the history plot would improve... NOT a lot, but would be better, YES

I've never understood the whole "emo" comment. Sasuke runs around beating the crap out of people and using insane level jutsu. Naruto runs around crying almost every chance he gets. How is the guy who beats the shit out of people emo but the crybaby isn't?

I'll tell why I hate Sasuke.
First he's like "Oh no my brother killed my family, I'm gonna brood and be emo" I'm okay with that however, when he finds out his brother acctualy had good reasons (god he never wondered why his big brother did something like that?  ) Then he goes completely cocohoto and hes like "Berp, I'm gonna go destroy konoha and kill my best friends  "
