I'm looking for a manga similar to psyren, full metal alchemist or kekkaishi

An action manga, doesn't matter if it's a male or female lead. Main Female character must not be weak/annoying type of character. (I do not consider Winry weak by the way! Or annoying bigrazz )
And preferably one that is plot driven too. Like FMA, the manga-ka obviously knew what she was doing and where the manga was going to end up. Thus there were no un necessary filler arcs

The three listed up there are probably my favourites, FMA being the first smile

I'm reading bleach and am quite enjoying it but bleach is not one of the stories where the manga-ka knows what he's doing all the time
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
thus the really terrible full bring arc

i've also had a shot at one piece and naruto but neither really appealed

romance is okay too.
I would also prefer it if the girls weren't drawn so.... stylized.... like... huge, unrealistic chests and etc.
Thank you smile

Siiince you said action and I don't know what about Psyren/FMA/Kekkaishi you're exactly looking for
I'm going to toss in Toriko.
Man, this series is hilarious.

I'd suggest
Rave Master and Fairy Tail obviously after you threw in the big three^^
(in that order because his art is linearly progressing)

and to complete it:
Claymore
D.Gray-man

Yumekui Merry is nice though only has moderate action
Akame ga KILL! I guess you already herd of it...

Soul Eater for hilariousness & action

You could give Kubera a try. The author seems to no where he\she is going, though there probably isn't all that much action.

Gangsta. is currently my favorite, because of it's great atmosphere and really likeable characters, which have been introduced in an amazingly casual (or better: natural?) way, although the setting is rather serious. ^^

Aside from this Manga, I would recommend the following ones these days:

* Dendrobates - The main character is an accountant - and assassin, what is there more to wish for, aside from an interesting storyline so far?
* Death Edge and Blood+ - If you don't mind supernatural elements.
* BB Project - Even if it's by times a bit unrealstic, the humor is worth a look.
* Shi ga Futari o Wakatsu Made - Already a must, if it comes to action Mangas.
* The Breaker - If you don't mind Manhwa?
* Brave 10 - The characters are quite unique and interesting, while the "Ecchi" factor is bearable for girls, at least for me.
* Samurai Champloo - One probably must love the characters and their fighting styles.
* Samurai Deeper Kyo
* And, :REverSAL - This one looked promising, but I just started reading the first chapter.

Oh wow! thank you so much for the suggestions, i'll have to go through them all when i have the time!

@fotre atrox i uppose i'm looking for a manga where there's action included, plot is well developped as are the characters.... FMA I believe had both whereas something like psyren really was just more plot driven than character development. Kekkaishi has a bit on both but focuses mainly on just one character and a few aspects of the plot. FMA is amazing because I just believe the manga-ka tied up all the loose ends and everything there was for a reason.

kubera looks good and reeally long which is good smile

And i don't mind supernatural elements, i'm keeping up with death edge and just wish there was more of it i could read!
