I am wondering if anyone like myself is anxiously waiting for Wii U, or just don't care.

Last time nindendo gave me a console it was the Wii... man me and my friends have had some good times with that machine.
I say "good times" because I barely moved that thing since Brawl came out and lets face it a console should not have a one and a half year life cycle!
Today I have all three of the current console which of only 2 are plugged in, the wii was plugged in briefly for a return to Hyrule which left me angry all because of a stupid fucking harp!
And lets face it about 75% of my wii collection is nintendo games they have no third party support and they didn't care.
So right now I have pretty low expectations for the console, mostly cause all of the third party games they have coming for it will have allready been out for some time when the console hits the shelves!
And the controller layout is borderline stupid thank god for the procontroller!
And for a while the name fucking befuddled me (I'm yelling this while typing)--> IF YOU MAKE A NEW CONSOLE MAKE A NEW NAME... don't slap a U on it and expect ppl to understand!
But to answer your question... fuck yeah I will get one because I'm a Nintendo fanboy...
Screw you Nintendo for making partly awesome games!

Hahaha. I would never have guessed your answer would be to get one after reading thru most of your comment. I agree with you about the third party support and the online community thing (like the child safefty consciousness but come on) but at the end of the day Zelda, Mario and Metroid make it worth it-to me at least. Hopefully they do much more for third party support and improve their online service this time around

I might not get it right away, but I'll probably end up having to get for Smash Bros, Legend of Zelda, and Pikmin (Unless somehow they all end up terrible). I wasn't the biggest Mario Galaxy fan (or of 3d mario games), but I think they would look great in HD, especially if they use the unique controls more than they took advantage of in Galaxy.

Don't know if they could have done more with the controls in Mario. Maybe have you flick it up to make Mario jump? That then brings the question of how they intend to use the new controller besides as a display for maps or hidden screens.

Apparently Nintendo will be having a press event tomorrow and will likely answer all the questions still hanging over the Wii U. Fingers crossed it doesn't cost more than $350

I wouldn't call it yet a waste until we know price and all the hidden facets of the system we still don't know. Hopefully you are wrong on it being a waste but we will know soon enough
@x0mbiec0rp Funny enough I hated N back in the day because I was a Sega fanboy (telling my age lol) but now I guess I prefer N because of the classics that keep getting updated (that and no more Sega )

Maybe?
I'll admit it, I'm a Nintendo fanboy; but seriously wtf? Whats the price tag? Whens the release date? I'm a cynic by nature and this is setting off all sorts of warning alarms in my head.

So now that we all know the details, has anyone changed their mind on getting it? Personally I was surprised it wasn't priced higher

After the announcement of Bayonetta 2, I'm pretty much set on getting one. Plus, I finally get to play Monster Hunter *_*

Lol that's the longest gif I've ever seen.
So basically Wii U is finally catching up with the Playstion and Xbox. I'm fairly sure that when playstation and Xbox release the next generation in their consoles the Wii U will go back to being irrelevant to most hardcore gamers.

The thing is I don't think Nintendo is trying to compete on the hardware power front, but rather stay relevant. I want to see what the next gen consoles from Xbox and Sony do but I really can't imagine an more improvements in the graphics front. I think biggest improvements will be on A.I intelligence and probably game physics. I have pre-ordered my copy so hopefully the Wii U will be all that.
