Looking for a manga that, ideally, has more of a historical/cultural, fictional, and/or fantasy background setting, where the world just comes alive and you're immersed in this world with the characters. I know this is a bit broad (and subjective) but it's the best way I can describe it. :/ To give an idea of what I consider fits the bill:
- Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou - Aria - Otoyomegatari - Gin no Saji (To me, the world of farming is something alien to me, but very enlightening) - Mushishi - Cesare
Heck, to some extent even Naruto and Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle fits the criteria, except I'm sick of one of them and the other has too much drama..
Anywho, these are some manga that comes to mind. A lot of what I like tends to be on the slice-of-life side. If anyone has anymore to share, I'd greatly appreciate it. :>

@Lorska - Based on the description alone, it doesn't seem so. Buuut, it was such a general description anyway, and I'm willing to give it a try. Thank you for your suggestion :>
@Roughan - I've read Emma and I vaguely remember enjoying it. Basara was surprisingly good, 7seeds was alright, Please save my earth was unique . I haven't read Oooku but the summary is fascinating! Eroica Yori Ai wo Komete.. the premise seems interesting enough. I do like manga that focuses on travel. Thank you for your list!
@Sherryl - Already read Historie (repeatedly), it's awesome. The only manga that really caught my eye was Moyashimon from your list. I'm a tad wary of the others just 'cause they're shoujo and I've tend to disagree with the high ratings given from experience. Still.. I'll keep them in mind and come back to them once I've finished reading most of the others. Thanks!
@ForteAtrox - Toriko.. I know of it ;\ but I never found the premise interesting for some reason. I'll still keep it in mind though. Thank youu.

One Piece and Tower Of God. Both do an incredible job at world building with off hand statements and little details. One is a world-wide best seller for a reason, the other an underground hit for basically the same reason. TOG is a webtoon like Crepuscule, Noblesse or TAL.

I've been immersing myself in the world of Wheel of Time recently (and there plenty history\lore\etc. in it). It's a series of fantasy books (rather than manga), so it's probably not what you are looking for media-wise, but it might be what you are looking for content-wise.

Seconding Tower of God. It needs to be read. Aruosumente and other mangas from this author, I believe (not that I've actually read any of their other works) Red River From Far Away Magician (KIM Sarae) Trump Lessa Jin City of Dead Sorcerer Akatsuki no Yona ism/i Hito Yuri Touge Otogimoyou Ayanishiki (this also has a sequel that is currently being scanslated) Yumemiru Koto Meiji Hiiro Kitan Adekan Ran to Haiiro no Sekai Satou-kun no Juunan Seikatsu I'm recommending this because it's hilarious Mononoke + anime by same name + last couple of episodes of Ayakashi Samurai Horror (the actual anime series was a spin-off of the last story of Ayakashi Samurai Horror)

@Ashoka - I've tried both before and just couldn't get into them. :\ & the reason I can't seem to get into most (korean) webcomics is due to the slow pace, redundant uses of the same panel with minor or no tweaks at all. It's obnoxious, lazy even. I know all the hype ToG gets but... it's probably something I won't give another chance to for a long time.
@Accursed-kun - I've read Vinland and Angyo, both good. Paladin's summary seems decent. Let's just hope it's executed well. Thanks for the suggestions.
@Smillo - Magi sounds really, really interesting! If the cover art is any indication, it looks like it'll be a vibrant manga. Thank you!
@jahu - Thank you for your kind intentions . I'm not much of a book reader, but I'll check out the reviews and decide if it's worth reading. Thanks!
@kichiX - I couldn't get into Aruosumente when I tried it. Part of the reason was the art actually. I really tend to despise (shoujo) art that has androgynous characters. It's such a turnoff :\. Trump doesn't sound like it'd take itself seriously. Jin sounds sorta... interesting, even if time travel has been done to death. City of Dead Sorcerer is the ONLY webcomic I actually like. ism/i's summary wasn't very cohesive. ..And a lot of these (shoujo) manga don't interest me, no offense. I've just read enough shoujos to be sick of them. I'll still give them a 1-3 chapter chance should I happen to be bored. Thanks for the long list of suggestions.

Berserk sounds like it would fit the bill perfectly. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
