Alright, so I'm looking for a manga/anime/tv show/movie/book in which the main character is previously naive, or hot-blooded, or kinda wimpy, but then various circumstances throughout the show eventually end up making him cold. Cold as in becomes a mass murderer without blinking. Of course, it's alright if they're actually a mass murderer without showing it; it's simply implied. Take Merlin (the BBC tv series). Last season Merlin

totally killed that whole field of soldiers via dragon fire, and then totally bonked the uncle dude in the cave
. He didn't even spare the soldiers a second glance! And they were his first true kill, too. It totally gave me the shivers. They didn't show anything, and played it like the uncle thing was an accident, but we all know what truly happened. (Or I do, anyhow).
