Rocking Horse Scans is a brand spankin' new group and is in need of staff! We are going to focus on previously dropped series so people can get the chapters of that series they've always wanted to finish but couldn't!

In need:
translators
cleaners
typesetters
proofreaders

If you would like to help a group that is just getting started, please reply here or send me a message! Any help would be awesome, great, amazing, and absolutely appreciated biggrin

What genre are you aiming at? I can probably be a proofreader though I don't really have much experience as it in a scanlator scene

Good question! From my experiences with working for other scans groups, shoujo tends to be pretty dominant. So I'm going to aim towards shounen and seinen. Of course I won't reject a shoujo title if someone wants it, but my aim is shounen and seinen.

Having said that, if you still want to join as a proofreader, that will be awesome! Just PM me your email address and we can get started!

If you have a spot for me then I don't mind joining. I'm new to this but I'm pretty good at photoshop. If you don't mind can you tell me the jobs of cleaners, typesetters and proofreaders?

Also I have experience in subbing an anime if that counts.

No worries, I have tons of spots open (TONS).

For cleaners, I will need them to level out pages, clean off text, possibly redraw, just overall maintenance on the raws. I'll be cleaning too so you won't be the only one having all kinds of fun in Photoshop lol. I'll be able to help if you need it!

For proofreaders, they will need to look over the translated text and make sure it sounds right, flows, and makes sense. If it doesn't, it is their job to fix it.

For typesetters, I just need them to handle inserting the words from the proofread text. Pretty much a copy-paste job but a very important job nonetheless. They will also need access to Photoshop.

Hopefully one of these positions interest you because I can definitely use some help!

THEN COUNT ME IN!

With a little guidance from someone I think I'll do a good job as a typesetter or a proofreader(though I can't read Japanese)
Do you have a website or something? Anyway I'm on board for this. I will graduate(I hope) pretty soon and I have lots of free time before the exams.

That is great! I really appreciate you deciding to help me! Very happy smile

Right now, our website is http://rockinghorsescans.blogspot.com/ but that is just a placeholder until I can find a more suitable space. I'm still trying to gather more people and decide on which projects we'll be working on, so there's a lot of moving parts right now. So if you will PM me your email address, we can get started!

I could be a cleaner, I have no experience other than the countless hours I spend doing it for fun. Plus, in my photography class we are literally on photoshop doing nothing. Please give me something to do. Please.
