The reason of what happened is probably because of the mist experiment, something like controlling technique or illusion making them see each other as allies, etc. Still don't like that Kishi picked the friend killed friend making another friend nerdrage card.

You and me both, he already went through a lengthy situation like that with Itachi. There's no need to visit something like that all over again with Kakashi....

Hopefully it was done intentionally and not because the hidden mist used some crap technique. I'll be waiting for a really good back-story.

If we're going with the whole death of a friend thing as Obito's motivation, I wish Kishimoto had at least made the scenario more interesting. Maybe if the 4th had also been there when Rin died, Obito's disillusionment in Konoha/his nakama would make more sense. Or if it turned out that Kakashi & Rin were intentionally used as cannon fodder in the battle.
As it stands, Obito tried to unleash the Kyuubi on Konoha, helped Itachi kill his whole clan (presumably including Obito's parents and siblings, if he had any), and is currently trying to enslave the world...because of whatever stupid technique the Mist ninjas used.

But man this chapter was drama central, obito's life reminds me of a soap opera...

Something traumatic happens and then they all turn I HATE THE WORLD. Seriously pathetic. Kishimoto too for creating such a lame soap opera with this whole Obito backstory.

I'm fair with what's going on. So long as it does not in the end, turns out it was obito's plan to unite the ninjas under the war menace. It's always lame, watchmen included.
