About damn time we find out how Kakashi obtained his Mangekyou Sharingan. Obito went a lil Psychotic there. This better not be Kishi's only explanation for what the hell happened to Rin -.-

So, from what I understand, Rin was somehow important enough for Kiri to try capturing her, and Kakashi decided to cut the losses and kill her to deny them their goal?

No, I believe they did something to Rin and Kakashi had no choice but to kill her. Whatever they had done to her, they even wanted to get her body back when she was dead.

It's no surprised most of the secrets are finally out of the bag. Naruto is to end in about a year and few months or so. Time to wrap things up so that he doesn't miss anything. He also has to make sure to tie up loose ends so that it won't seemed rushed and it will actually fell resolved and not cut off abruptly.

Just took him about 20 years to learn to use it!
And why are most/all Uchiha so quick to nerdrage with hatred?

The way I say it Rin probably betrayed the Leaf and Kakashi was doing his duty. The whole trash motto he gave Naruto at he beginning of the series. I could be wrong but that was the feeling I got from this chapter.

To me this chapter was a waste, it didn't explain much, it only showed Obito losing his mind :/ *sigh*

That's because you're probably one of the people that focus on chapters as if they're there own little story rather than looking at it overall. If you reread all the flashback chapters up to this point in one session, it will make more sense and flow quite nicely. It'll flow even better once it'd wedged by future chapters.

I'll put my prediction in spoilers, just to be safe. Completely unconfirmed, but it seems logical to me:

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Rin was always a Mist spy. The Bloody Mist was known for using children (and Kabuto was a spy for Orochimaru around the same age). Plus, they seemed very interested in retrieving her body (which was a big thing discussed after Haku "killed" Zabuza -- they need to destroy the body to avoid the enemy getting village secrets and techniques).

I agree this was mostly a waste of a chapter. Although I guess I shouldn't complain about his instinctive use of Kamui the instant he gained it, because that was what happened to Nagato as a kid. He'd get angry and use his eyes instinctively to kill lots of people. It's still annoying though that with no additional training and a weakened body he can be better than Kakashi all of a sudden.

I mean, even one-tailed Naruto didn't have that big a jump in skill, and that was actually a new mind taking over.

Well Zetsu and/or the masked thingie said they heard something about an experiment, which i think explains what the deal was, otherwise it was a pointless addition.
