This is a suggestion mostly for the oneshots: Please read the FAQ.

I have found that many of the oneshot cover images are that of the scanlated version, not the original language version that the FAQ requires. I think it is the scanlator that is uploading the images but have no proof.

The FAQ can be found here: http://www.mangaupdates.com/faq.html?cid=7#item48

I'll repeat it here:
Quote
Only original cover scans
Only upload cover images that come from volumes released in the series' original language or from the licensed USA volume releases. This means if the series was originally in Korean, the uploaded cover image needs to be from the Korean volume, not the Japanese one.

Oneshots don't fall under than rule, as they're not part of a volume. If they are part of a volume, then the oneshot wouldn't have its own series entry anyways.

The way I see it is that a oneshot is a series that consists of only 1 chapter and therefore comes under the FAQ rule. If a oneshot is not part of that rule, then the FAQ should say so.

I believe this rule should be consistant for every image upload and should not pick and choose which uploads to ignore (such as oneshots).

the way i see it oneshot is a story that is not a series. hence the "one-shot"... if they made a series out of it then that story becomes a series.

from wiki: A one-shot is a comic book that is a pilot or a stand-alone story created as a single issue, rather than the more typical series format.

Eh? Oh... well, okay. I just always thought that that rule applied to all cover images, and that scanlated covers were always bad, even for oneshots (except that images for oneshots are usually so hard to find that when I would find a scanlated one, often I could not find a better (not scanlated) picture to replace it with, and so I left it alone).

To be perfectly honest, I don't care, and I didn't make the rule in the first place.
