so yeah... as the title says... I'm looking for an anime with a cool/awesome lead girl...
it means that she can be; good at fighting, smart, expressionless, cold, rude, strong physically/emotionally, mysterious, athletic... . etc 
examples from manga;
Gokusen - good at fighting + awesome!
Kaichou wa Maid-sama - strong
The Wallflower - mysterious..expressionless.. I LOVE THIS ONE :3
Another - don't really know, 'cuz im just starting to watch this ^^
Ouran High School Host Club - the female lead is cool and won't fall for a guy just 'cuz he's good looking *like tamaki :X*
Bamboo Blade - Tama has a special talent! and she's strong.. and emotionless
I don't really know any more mangas that actually are animes or how do u call it... but i will be thankful if u would tell me!

Warau Kanoko-sama and the sequel Koi Dano Ai Dano the girl is smart...clever moreso...shrewd lol
Last Game recommended!!!
Oresama Teacher the female lead is strong and the comedy is one of its strong points!
Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii i really like the main character...she has the ability to call the rain...though its pretty common don't be disheartened! i assure that there's more to the special ability! i won't say much 
Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun female lead is cold...this one has an anime
i've also read those you mentioned!! i love Ouran!! and i might try bamboo blade..we seem to have a common liking in genres (hope so )

Kino no Tabi - Kino has sort of given up her gender, but she's definitely a strong female lead... mentally and physically.
Juuni Kokuki - Youko starts out sort of weak and whiny, but she grows and becomes formidable.
Kurau Phantom Memory - Kurau plays the role of protector throughout the anime, is competent and has super powers.

I just finished a movie - Blood C: The Last Dark, I think it fits your description quite well (I haven't actually watched the anime series per say, though it's bloody and at the time the female lead has the persona of a clumsy yet strong girl) based on how the female lead, Saya, is in there. c: She's very badass imo - cool and cold, distant but caring.

First of all, forgive me if someone already named some of them (or all of them), I didn't go through all the messages.

Well... Claymore Clare is mysterious to a certain extend, in the beginning she's expressionless and cold, and she's pretty strong both physically and emotionally. She's an awesome fighter, though I suggest you read the manga too, the manga is still ongoing and is really interesting. She just gets better and better.
[m]Kara no Kyoukai[/m] Shiki, mysterious, expressionless, strong... very strong overall.
Medaka Box 'Nuff said, Kurokami Medaka is quite interesting. The art in the manga is really good. I suggest you watch the anime, not sure if season 2 is out yet, but they definitely have one.
Ichi This is a manga, though she fits pretty much all your requirements besides rude.
Blood+ It was really good, I never expected it... Saya gets really awesome.
The above are pretty much shounen, but it seems you like shoujo too.
Oresama Teacher If you haven't read it already...
Stroke Material SMUT WARNING. She's cool, level-headed, stoic, strong emotionally, expressionless...
Yuureitou It's a manga, and forgive me for spoiling it. She's pretty awesome too. Kinda manipulative.
Elfen Lied Lucy's pretty much what you're looking for, except she's deranged.

havent really read through everthing so sorry if something doubles.
Kotoura-san - female lead with telepathy (she's only one with ability)
Ben-to - female lead's one of the strongest
Tora Dora
Oda Nobuna
Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shita
last 4 have such female leads but focus more on male lead character
