What happens is that you list three of the oldest songs that you would consider to be one of your favorites. You list the song, what band it is by, and then what year the song was released. I'll start:

"For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield, 1966
"Magic Carpet Ride" by Steppenwolf, 1968
"Layla" by Derek & The Dominos, 1970

"Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin, 1924
"For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield, 1966
"Daydream Believer" by The Monkees, 1967

I'm sure I listen to older songs, but these are tho only old ones that I can really consider favorites off the top of my head.

"Feeling Good" by Nina Simone, 1965
"Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" by James Brown, 1965
"Bang, Bang" by Nancy Sinatra, 1966

I consider those my favorites right now. I can't help but notice that I'm getting more into older music then newer music as I get older, weird laugh

I wouldn't say they are my all-time favorite songs ("Domino Dancing" is up there), but these are the ones with the most plays out of my Oldies playlist...

"Use To Be My Girl" by The O'Jays, 1978
"Do You Wanna Touch Me?" by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, 1973
"Domino Dancing" by Pet Shop Boys, 1987-88

Other than classical music:

Drive my car (1965) - Beatles

Another Brick in the Wall (1979) part 1, 2, 3 - Pink Floyd

Then comes the 90s, for me it was music heaven, so it's impossible to decide. I'll just go with Wonderwall (1995) - Oasis, with the other candidates as songs from Nirvana and U2.

Animals - House Of The Rising Sun (1964)
The song itself was actually a folk song first recorded in 1934 though it has roots dating to 18th century England.

-"Edelweiss" from the Sound of Music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFHujvkacNY
-"Close To You" Carpenters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6inwzOooXRU
- "Daisy" (On A Bicycle Built For Two) by Nat King Cole http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78MKBHR3NbU
