My collection of manga looks like this:

Shoujo (44 manga)
Shounen (139 manga)
Josei (17 manga)
Seinen (75 manga)

As you can see, my Shoujo/Josei collection is pretty weak. It has expanded from what it was (which was practically non-existent) thanks to the help of other members of MU, but I would like to expand it even further.

I have (mostly) updated lists here at MU, feel free to take a look if you like.

Some of the Shoujo/Josei I have enjoyed the most are:
Aishiteruze Baby
Annarasumara
Boko no Hatsukoi o Kimi ni Sasagu
Gakuen Babysitters
Half Prince
Love So Life
Orange Marmalade
Prism
The Day the Magpie Cries
Usagi Drop

One trend I've noticed about which shoujo manga I enjoy is they tend to be more slice of life or drama based, so that's a plus when suggesting. That's not a hard requirement, however, since Orange Marmalade and Half Prince are horror/sci-fi respectively.

I love tragic stories, especially tragic romance; though tragic with a happy ending would always be best. biggrin

Ecchi and mature are okay, but not required.

Generally, I stay away from slapstick manga such as School Rumble, but will make an exception if it's extremely good.

I'd highly recommend the following manga:
Hana to Akuma
Strobe Edge
Skip Beat
Yumenara Samenaide - especially story 1
[m]Kingyou Sou[/m]
100% Perfect Girl
Goong
[m]Moe Kare[/m]
Shinobi Life - recently just finished and shoujo-shounen type genre.

- hope you enjoy these shoujo titles as much as I do

Allez

For tragic love stories check out:
Garden Dreams
Yama ni Sumu Kami
Tamashii no Futago (this one doesn't have romance as its main focus, but is as heartbreaking as it could get and provides a surprisingly hopeful ending)

For less dramatic daily-life manga I'd recommend:
Hagoromo Mishin (Sakamichi no Apollon by the same mangaka has been adapted to anime and therefore is more well-known, but the first series is no less worthy, I assure you)
Shiki no Zenjitsu
Yajirobee
Umimachi Diary
Himitsu no Kaidan

Josei:
+C: Sword and Cornett (action, adventure)
14-sai no Koi (slice-of-life, romance)
Antimagia (action, fantasy)
Are You Alice? (fantasy, mystery)
Dark Seed (fantasy, mystery)
Dawn - Tsumetai Te (supernatural, horror)
Demon Seiten (supernatural, drama)

Shoujo:
Aisubeki Musumetachi (slice-of-life, romance)
Akatsuki no Yona (adventure, romance)
Clover (Clamp) (drama, tragedy)
Seishun Kouryakuhon (slice-of-life)

Oh, and I second Garden Dreams, Tamashii no Futago, and Himitsu no Kaidan.

Nice, thanks for the suggestions. I'm adding them all to my list.

I think I'll start with Garden Dreams, then Yumenara Samenaide. They look great. I especially love MU's picture for Yumenara Samenaide, it's very cute.

if you like romance you could take a look at my lists. There are many shoujos in there, most of them slice of life and such. pretty much all of them should be ranked 8.5-9.5 and judging from your lists you should enjoy most.
sorry but it would be too much to list them all here ><

Thanks. Y'know, everyone keeps recommending Hana Yori Dango, I'm going to have to read that soon. That's the "Flowers Over Boys" one right?
