Was this manga where the loudmouth idiot that goes into power mode having everyone shouting "over nine thousand" was the female and the male was the calm and mature senpaiwho was general useless in battle except for his healing powers. You recognises the setup from other shounen like Naruto and Kekkaishi but all the genders are reversed. There where also other side characters whose basis was easy to recognise like the emo rivel with dark past. Does not have to be shounen as long as there are recognisable gender cliches being reversed.

Your post kind of reminded me of Witchcraft Works except it had reversed shoujo gender roles, so...

I think some (if not all) of these manga probably fit the idea of reverse gender cliches:
Girls of the Wild's - weak male protagonist and strong female seniors Beelzebub - strong female fighters and some weak males 1/2 Prince: Shounen and Shoujo - strong and sometimes masculine (onl female protagonist Oresama Teacher: Shoujo - strong female lead and some emotional male characters Hidan no Aria: Seinen (there's also a novel) - violent trigger-happy and sword-happy(? If that's a word) female characters and a easily subdued male protagonist (which isn't surprising considering the personalities of the female characters) Obaka-chan, Koigatariki: Shoujo - violent and strong female lead with males weaker in comparison
These are all the ones that I can think of so far.

Sorry but it's not the weak male/strong female plot device im looking for. It is more that the cliches associated with the typical male/female protagonist have been reversed, eg the mangas i mentioned but the genders of the protagonists are reversed.

Round two! Doesnt have to be intentional as long as you recognise the archetypes. It wold be nice to if you could explain some more why you recommend that particular manga for this request, so I know if I make sense to people or not?
