A lot of romance in manga starts with attraction and then getting to know one another. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for manga where the couple doesn't start off immediately in love, but rather get to know each other and love each other's personalities?
I'm mainly looking for shoujo. I don't really like ditzy female leads, and I think it's important for both characters to have strong personalities that they both fall in love with. I'd rather not have a super-slow romance, but if it's got a good plot and development, I'm up for anything!
Thanks a ton!

Maybe these? Kirai Hana to Akuma Bonnouji: seinen, but I think this fits quite well. Hotaru no Hikari:

hmm, Kare Kano migth fit. I mean, I think they are supposed to start as a couple, but they act more as friends than lovers. So, enjoy!

I would highly recommend Nodame Cantabile. For her, it's love at first sight. But he takes awhile, and every second is totally worth it. Bonus - You'll learn quite a bit about music.

I higly higly recommend Beniiro Hero. It's about volleyball and the romance doesn't start until later but the character development in this one is too good to pass by.

I just finished Bijo ga Yajuu, I really liked the main character but the romance/ending was kinda unsatisfactory, any others like it?
