Hi. I've been reading lots of shoujo/romance mangas and recently, I kind of got sick of all the "mushy" and "lovey dovey" scenes. So now, I want to read mangas (can be manhwa or manhua) with good plots and strong characters. I'm looking for shounen, maybe seinen mangas. I actually would prefer it if the main character has this "evil" side of him. (like Yagami Light). Also, it's okay if there is still romance in the manga, just as long as the story doesn't move around it.
Some of the mangas that I enjoyed: Tower of God (MY ULITIMATE FAVORITE; I LOVE KOON ) Death Note Fairy Tail Kuroko no Basuke Full Metal Alchemist (though I don't really dig the whole "religious" theme in it)
These are my favorites among my list of shounen mangas...it's not alot though...so I need your help guys!
Thanks!

If you're reading shoujo because you like the art, Vampire Juujikai has also a kind of shoujo-ish art and it's a very good shounen. As pretty much anything by Shirodaira Kyou so keep him in mind. But at least in Vampire Juujikai love is kind of important...
Other stuff which fits, less love related: Shin Angyo Onshi Gunslinger Girl you should love Jean, I think. He's a sweet sadistic bastard. Anything by Urasawa Naoki. Historie Chrno Crusade Vinland Saga

Noblesse One of the best shonen out there. Don't let the starting decieve you..... Protagonist has a dark side about him.

Thanks! And yeah, I did try Noblesse and dropped it after the first chapter...But since you said what you said, then maybe I'll give it another try
Thanks for the replies!

Quote from WatashiWaZero Thanks! I gave up on Noblesse more than 4 times before reaching 50, and I am glad I continued it. It's my favourite manga. I don't want you to give up so I would suggest you to read it on Batoto.net or egscans.com as they offer webtoon mode (one strip format). I hope you cover first 75 chapters and then you won't be able to give up no matter what.
Also you must read One Piece. A great shonen with a great story and strong characters whose art evolves greatly later on. Much better than Fairy Tail. Highest selling manga of all times.
Berserk A great read if you can swallow gore (& one heavy rape scene). The character has a evil side and the story greatly improves from volume 3.
Akame ga Kiru! Another great shonen.... Feng Shen Ji

I strongly recommend Ichi. Very unique. I wouldn't say she has an evil side to her but she does have a bit of a dark past.

Quote from rychels I strongly recommend Ichi. Very unique. I wouldn't say she has an evil side to her but she does have a bit of a dark past. Didn't read carefully and thought you meant Ichi the Killer. That would've been funny, albeit in a very twisted way.
OT: Some of my favorites Great Teacher Onizuka - A very good blend of comedy and drama. Angel Densetsu - The art may not be great but it's absolutely hilarious Onani Master Kurosawa - Don't be put off by the title. The ratings don't lie.
Here are some slice of life as well because they're awesome: Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou Genshiken Aria
Seconding reid1's recs (Shin Angyo Onshi and Urasawa Naoki in particular. See 20 Seiki Shounen and Monster)
