According to Chapter 220, Rai was forced to use his powers because of some incident. But from the talks between Gejutel & Franky and the way Previous Lord and Current Lord said it, it becomes clear that no major/minor incident took place 820 years ago.

According to them Rai just disappeared without any traces. So it's likely that all traces of battles were removed and the traitors didn't faced noticeable injuries otherwise Frankenstein/Lord would have noticed it.

It's likely traitors used some sort of teleportation circle to take Rai far away. Or maybe they created a situation in which Rai was forced to come alone at a certain place. We all know Rai cares about Franky and so he didn't informed him in order to make him worry (or risk his life if the situation was too dangerous). Maybe a traitor took him in an isolated place? Nobles didn't cared what others of their kin do so other leaders might not have noticed this (Ch. 243)

So what was that incident? Did traitors placed ordinary humans in danger? Were other beings involved? Is it related to sudden disappearance of Werewolves?

How did Rai escaped from there? Do traitors believe they killed Rai? Was Rai saved by some another being (maybe Roctis or someone bonded with Rai)? Did someone sacrificed his life to protect Rai to make traitors believe Rai is dead?

How did he arrived in Korea?

Very interesting points you have there. There has to be someone else on Rai's side besides Frankenstein.

How about Rai was placed in a situation where he couldnt attack or kill the people that threatend him? Like you said maybe they involved humans. I dont think there was any battle, but Rai was blackmailed to come to a place, and had no choice but to enter into a deep sleep for 820 years. But it's hard to say anything at this point, a theory like Rai got bored and decided to sleep for a while is just as legit as everything else we have said.

Except that at some point Frankenstein discussed the issue with the rest of the gang. He mentioned that Rai had strained himself badly and needed the sleep to try to recover. In fact, that is one of the reasons that Rai is still in such a bad shape, because he had basically crossed the limit where full recovery was no longer possible.

Thus him being so easily drained when he is using his power, especially after his "sparring" with the new Lord. This was the reason Frankenstein was so furious at Gejutel afterwards.

I remember that somewhere Franky said that Roctis tried to kill Rai. So him saving Rai is out of question. As to what happened 820 years ago, I believe that Roctis was unable to kill Rai (as he is still alive) but somehow was able to make him use lot his power (maybe this was the method he used to try to kill him) and this forced Rai to sleep for a long time. So, when he couldn't kill him, he just stole his coffin and tried to seal it for as long as possible. I think the coffin was permanently moved from place to place regularly to make it impossible to track and it just happened to be in Korea when Rai woke up (as the coffin was to be handed over to M-21 and M-22 for transportation, I maybe wrong here as I read that long time ago but am sure that coffin was supposed to be transported). He just spread the rumor that Rai was dead (maybe to hide his failure) and made his coffin disappear which made impossible for others to prove that Rai was alive. When he found that Rai has woken up, he started sending Elders to make him use his power so that he is already weak when he faces Rai.
Its also possible that above all was done by 3rd party, who made Roctis defect in the first place (I think its really difficult to make a Noble defect and make that two) and even Roctis doesn't know about Rai's awakening.
But still above all is just a conjecture so don't be too harsh on me if its wrong.

I wonder if we would get some answers now seeing two traitors are on main stage.

Ch. 278 makes things even more confusing. Zarga and Urokai somewhat believed that Rai didn't knew that they were responsible for the incident 820 years ago. I give up........ How did they made Rai use his powers without revealing themselves??

- - - - - -

I am waiting for Roctis to be further introduced in story. Seeing from Zarga and Urokai's reaction, we can be really sure that all the six traitors followed Rai from their hearts. They weren't acting to be his followers......it was all real! So it would be interesting to see their reasons for betraying him.

Urokai's reason makes sense. He respected Rai's wish to stay alone. But then Rai allowed a human to stay with him even though Urokai was waiting for the same affection. Urokai was really devoted to him and it would really anger you when your loved one pays attention to a new arrival xD

I wonder if Muzaka is one of the main culprit of the incident 820 years ago. "They" alongside Muzaka fought Rai while traitors supported them from shadows.

It's confirmed that traitors didn't fought Rai directly otherwise they would have suffered noticeable injuries which might have alerted Frankenstein and others.

Chapter 289 give us hint that (from Frank's point of view) the Roctics cs already preying on Rai.
That the sincerity behind the group's visit was fake and they already had something on their mind all along (supposed to lead to the "mysterious incident" 820 years ago)
But didnt Rai have the ability to read other's heart? or mind?
He must have known whatever their plan back then..

Chapter 311 answers some question.

I think Muzaka was brainwashed by all the traitor clan leaders with help from 2nd Elder... Rai was probably hesitant to fight his only friend and that too when Muzaka was rather a victim than an enemy.
