After having read another Manga, i which the Mother, after having cheated on her husband, leaves the house in order to pursue her own happiness, I wondered if there were any stories where a parent, who abandoned his/her family comes back.
The reasons for the return -Regret, hoping to make use of the child, even "meh, my family, I can come back whenever I choose"- is of secondary importance, I don't actually care if the Reunion is successful or not (obviously if the parent came back out of selfish reasons, I'd prefer an unsuccessful Reunion) and it doesn't even have to be the main plot (more than one chapter in a longer series would be nice)

Examples
1. Wife leaves Husband and Child for another man, starts living with him, realizes that she does love her hubby and wants to be back together only to find that they don't want or need her anymore.
2. Husband leaves Wife and Child because he wants to "find himself" after "wasting" his time (possibly youth) on being a good father and husband (or not) while the his "family" tries their bet to make due (cue: other suitor, friends, evil boss who wants "favors") until the father nonchalantly returns home and expects everything to return to how it was before, only to discover that thre are some things you can't get back from!
3. Wife takes child and runs from abusive Husband and tries to establish a new and happier life, eventually hubby finds them again, but this time the Wife can defend herself (not necessarily martial arts)
4. Child runs away from abusive home (possibly one parent refused to see the signs) finds solace with friends/family (usually Aunt or Uncle) and at some point the parents want her back (the on parent realizes that s/he ignored the obvious, or parents miss their "plaything/gofer")

I hope this was understandable. Any Ideas are much appreciated
If threads asking for similar things already exist (I did search the "I'm looking for" Forum unsuccessfully) I'd be happy to get any links to them

Out of all of these, only one manga has a parent that returns (so far anyway).

Makamisama no Iutoori! Is about a man who saves a girl abandoned in the forest and eventually brings her to another house to take care of her. The girl spends her time waiting for the man she calls "Master" and he eventually returns, but it seems like he hasn't aged!

Kamisama Hajimemashita is actually one of my favorites. The main character lives with her dad, but he suddenly goes on an adventure as the loan sharks are after him and eventually Nanami, the main character becomes
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
a human land god
.

Love So Life is also pretty good~

I don't really know of much manga that has parental abandonment, but there are some manga that somewhat pertains to what you are looking for.

Fruits Basket is also one of my favorites, but Tohru's parents didn't abandon her. They passed away. Anyhow, Tohru always reflects on what he mother has taught her.

Annarasumanara doesn't really have parents in the story, but there is a magician that takes care of the protagonist. This is a manhwa.

Mademoiselle Butterfly we don't see her parents, but this manga is set in a time period when most poor families sold their daughters to be courtesans. This is a love story that almost made me cry.

I hope you find what you're looking for! If you don't see anything you like, try to check the categories such as the "Abandoned Child" category~ The advanced search engine here is incredible! (I had a hard time finding it, but it can be found by clicking genre~)

Thank you for the suggestions!
I especially enjoyed Girls of the Wild's, although it wasn't what I was looking for, exactly.

I find the theme of the "absentee parent" or the "abandoned child" quite abundant,
but often it merely serves as an introduction to the story/the protagonists pain/dilemma/motivation
yet the conclusion is often omitted.
Consider Hoshi wa utau, the mother leaves, the father sends her away, and the only interaction we get with the "family" is the evil stepmother (that shouldn't count as a spoiler)
Bitter Virgin is more in line with what I seek, based purely on Mother-Daughter Realtionship
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
After being repeatedly violated by her stepfather, even getting pregnant twice, the Mother is forced to realize that not all is well, and for being -willfully- ignorant, the daughter leaves the household

I suppose I'm just tired of stories that use the "broken home"-background only to abandon it/never mentioning it again.
While Skip Beat also contains elements of this
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
part of Kyouko's character is built upon the fear of abandonment if she doesn't please others or perform well
and I'm hoping that later chapters will address the issue with Kyouko's Mother - I'm no hoping for a heartfelt reunion somehow

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Apart from some already mentioned, these are some I didn't think of adding before:

1/2 Prince - not abandonment as such
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The lovey-dovey parents return after going on their umpteenth honeymoon. The protagonist manages to get some revenge

Himegimi to Sanbiki no Kemono - the mother ignores the protagonist and sometimes locks her in her bedroom,
Nisekoi
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The female lead's mother returns once a year having left due to work

Shaman King and Shaman King Flowers: SM's sequel - the first is pretty long and already scanlated but the sequel makes more sense if you read SM
Special Martial Arts Extreme Hell Private High School -
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the father leaves, but the son joins a crazed school unbeknownst to the fact that it is run by his father

Seiyuu Ka! - the mother dotes on the younger sister but abandons the protagonist
Akagami no Shirayukihime
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The father leaves to not pull the daughter into danger, but she accidentally meets him

Yankee-kun to Megane-chan
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The father returns after being away for work, doesn't immediately get along with son due to long-lasting animosity between the two

Houou Gakuen Misoragumi - male lead doesn't get along with his father
Nobara no Hanayome - NOTE: It hasn't been scanlated in ages
Tokyo Babylon

Sorry for giving away so much. I couldn't help myself.

bump

I thank you all for the suggestions
I especially liked Girls of the Wild's although it wasn't quite what I was looking for...

Something more along the lines of perhaps
Oyaji
Arigatou

from the standpoint that it's about their father coming back after a long absence.

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun looks like it might be what you are looking for. The male lead has a very complicated situation that meant that has lead to him living with his cousin rather than either parent but it looks like it will get resolved.
