Kingdom Setting?

Member 4:40 am, Feb 27 2013 Posts: 18	I'm looking for manga with a setting in a kingdom, with kings, commoners, castles war, horses, and all that jazz. Romance is strongly preferred, especially if it is a female lead who isn't a princess or some nobility. I would do a category search but there doesn't seem to be a tag with this kind of setting! Some pluses include: strong and smart female lead, not super cutesy art, not too much fighting, somewhat political or interesting storyline, romance <3 Anyway, I really love this type of setting, so I'll greatly appreciate any suggestions, even if they don't have any if the "pluses." I have some manga on my lists already, like Basara (which was great for many volumes until it was just dragging on) and the one with the girl with red hair (which honestly seemed too unserious and could have taken place in any other setting and been the same shallow story, only read a few chapters), but I don't mind you restating them and adding review for anyone else interested in this thread. Thanks! Edit: Forgot to add, I don't mind if it's a Japanese, Scottish, Russian, or whatever "king"dom but I was thinking more European. Though I'm assuming you meant Akagami no Shirayukihime since you have that one on your reading list. Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori - Not European ambient Dokuhime Ludwig Kakumei - A bit of an unorthodox suggestion.....haha Joou no Hana - Another that is not European ambient +C: Sword and Cornett - Romantic love isn't really a main part of the story. (But there is platonic & family love involved?) Anyway, sorry if none of those work out! Hope you find a great manga with all your 'pluses'.
