The protagonist processing technology (Zipang) or knowledge (Jin) that is not supposed to exist in that era/world. Does not have to involve world/time travel, something like the Whispered from Full Metal Panic also works. As for comedy i draw the line somewhere around the level of FMP thought something like the first mentioned series are preferable.

Oda Nobuna no Yabou but it's probably more comedic than FMP, still I'll let you decide.

Little Jumper maybe?

[Edit]
well the only technology would be weapons and the likes. They fight/protect with them. Female lead isnt allowed to travel throghu time so she has to be captured (with force>weapons) ofc she defends herself (with weapons). But action/fights only secondary in story

Works, was thinking more in the direction of science but i like what i have seen so far. As for the other suggestions could you edit in what type of knowledge/technology they bring into the story?

Edited with descriptions:

Amatsuki-Boy who's good at science is on a field trip and transported to the past where he uses science knowledge to create fake monsters to scare 'bad guys' and the such, then it changes more to magical/supernatural powers but he again uses his knowledge of science within this power
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
because he's able to conjour things he imagines....there's a good explanation why he has it but bit too much of a spoiler XD

Amakusa 1637-5 friends who are top of the class get transported top the past and use their knowledge of history, science, religion, martial arts, all sorts of out of world knowledge to change the past and save christians from being slaughtered in historical riots by becoming a famous historical figure.

Mirai no football-Japanese footballer gets transported to england in the past and uses football techniques from the future to help a minor league struggling english football team (Durham.)

Also I forgot a few:

Thermae Romae-Roman architect who time travels to Japan and gains knowledge about baths which he uses to improve the Roman ones when he goes back.

Gantz-It gets to be a lot later in the story and is a major spoiler, so the simple explanation is: It's modern day and ordinary people are given alien technology for some reason they don't know, but if you really want the full explanation:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
There's someone on earth recieving messages from aliens telling of the future, an alien invasion and giving them knowledge about technology that can avert this future.

Devil Survivor-Only read a bit of it so can only speak for the beginning but 4 friends get nintendo ds type consoles from a mutual friend and they give news feeds about things that will happen that day, such as blackouts or explosions etc.

Thanks for the suggestion all but once again can you explain your recommendation? I unfortunately dont have the time to check them all out to see if they fit what im looking for. Nobunaga no Chef was easy to pick out because I found what i was looking for in the description of the series.

Quote from sakura8429

Wasnt the protagonist just a genius?
