Konnichiwa! I'm a rookie fangirl of the yaoi genre, so I don't know much about yaoi mangas. That's why, I would like to ask the senpais, if you can suggest any great or worth-reading yaoi mangas because I would like to expand my horizons in this genre. Thank you very much, in advance, senpais! smile wink grin

Well, since you are asking to be corrupted, I will definitely give you some great manga that every Yaoi lover should read. I am not sure what ones you may have read already so I am just going to put them all out there and then add to the list as I think of more.

Here we go smile

Totally Captivated - this was my first yaoi manga and it is drawn beautifully and just... omg if you haven't read it, please do ^.^
There is of course Junjou Romantica and Sekaiichi Hatsukoi smile
Honto Yajuu, Harete Bokutachi wa and sequel Dokidoki Renai all by YAMAMOTO Kotetsuko ~ really all of Yamamoto Sensei's works are worth reading.
Crimson Spell and Finder
Cut and Bond(z) by Kawai Touko - really love her, too
Also, all manga by Junko like Star-Like Words, Miyamoto Kano like Hydra, Ike Reibun like Kanga na Spoon, TENZEN Momoko like Lotus Eater and Asou Kai like Sorenari ni Shinken nandesu.!!!! ~

This should be a good start without giving you too much at once. I will definitely add to it!

**Not sure how smutty you want.... so I held back a wee little bit...**

*EDIT*
I Want to Become Your Bird

I really recom Abe Miyuki's mangas. It's not yaoi, but just shounen-ai so it matches for newbie smile Her stories are awesome, it has anything you need in there. Art is beautiful, story is amazing and it doesn't make the readers get bored. My fav one from her manga is Super Lovers. And her Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike! is a good read too smile wink grin

And I recom Kanda Neko's mangas too like Otokogokoro and its sequels, Harapeko Usagi to Koisuru Ookami, Puchitto Hajiketa and Mayonaka no Oyatsu.

Then Kamon Saeko, Sakuraga Mei, Nekota Yonezou's mangas also and others. ugh, I wanna recom all my fav mangakas embarrassed

You asked for more... so I will supply more... gosh working at a place where I can post yaoi suggestions on a forum is awesone, ne? LOL! Anyways, like I said before I am not really sure how smutty you want the manga so I will posta warnings on the ones that are a bit rough.

Under Grand Hotel - this one is very smutty but omg the story is great. the sequel Under Grand Hotel - Kiss & Kill has just started being scanlated (my profile pic is the main couple. Sadahiro Mika is the mangaka for this series. She is just awesome. Pathos is another good one by her again very smutty - it is about Vampires.
Seven Days - this is a Shounen-ai, I don't really like shounen-ai but this one is great. I own it!
Little Butterfly - This one is angsty, but has a great story and not smutty at all. Perfect for a newbie!
Pure (Dakkang) - this is a Manhwa shounen-ai - really sad but I loved it (I like tragedy and angst so....)
Haru wo Daiteita - there is an anime for this one but the anime doesn't do it any justice.. you must read the manga!
Loveless - a shounen-ai - another where the anime does it no justice..... Soubi is so much hotter in the manga!
Sakura Gari - a tragic manga.... RAPE warning... it is beautiful, though. Love it!
Three Wolves Mountain - this manga as well all of Naono Bohra's mangas would be a good one!
Love Neko and Lovers Doll by Mishima Kazuhiko ~ all of this mangaka's works are really cute! Also, Lovers Doll had me in TEARS! OMG, it is a gem.
Naisho de Alleluya and Aikotoba wa Hallelujah are really good if you want a manga with a single father smile I swear Botan (the Little boy) is by far the cutest Chibi EVER!
Bukiyou na Silent - this is another one that every yaoi lover should read it is SO cute
Rutta to Kodama - same as Bukiyou ^.^

I second any work's by Sakuraga Mei, Kanda Neko and Abe Miyuki - Super Lovers is just great!

With all these already great suggestions I'd just like to add NATSUME Isaku to the mix, I think her stories are great for beginners in BL. Her characters are lovable and her stories sweet and funny. & If you haven't already, don't miss out on works by YONEDA Kou, her story Doushitemo Furetakunai was one of the first BL stories I ever read. biggrin

I'd second all the works of Takanaga Hinako, Nekota Yonezou, Naono Bohra, and Yamamoto Kotetsuko. Who am I kidding, I'd second almost all of the current suggestions! I'd also like to add the following:

Dear Green: Hitomi no Ounowa Dear Green and other works by Fujiyama Hyouta
Tea for Two, Yume Musubi Koi Musubi and Himegoto Asobi (that one's still ongoing) by Sakuragi Yaya
Ai no Kotodama by Konno Keiko
Mirai no Kioku (also known as Memory of the Future or Future Lovers) by Kunieda Saika
Katekyo! by Moegi Yuu

I also really like works by Hidaka Shouko, Hideyoshiko, Kano Shiuko, Fuwa Shinri, Itsuki Kaname, Kinoshita Keiko, Yamada Yugi.

The following are Korean and some tend more to Shounen-Ai but I liked them:
U Don't Know Me by NA Yeri
Roureville and Not so Bad by Lee Hae
Running on Empty by Kim Jea-Eun

I recommend yaoi manga by Minase Masara. Like Aishuu or Father Complex. She is one of my favorite authors.

Suzuki Tsuta I just really love her biggrin
Love Akanai Tobira and Merry Checker.... Basically i would probably list all of her works
Junko She's amazing, but she can get smutty at times so ease into it wink some of my favorites from her is Abarenbou Kareshi and Konbini-kun
Hagio Moto She has got them classics Zankoku na kami ga Shihai Suru and Marginal even though it isn't explicitly smutty
Kodaka Kazuma Gotta read hers. Border, Hana to Ryuu, Kizuna, ... You should catch my drift now.
I'm unsure of my list but enjoy to your fullest laugh

Edit: fixing an author name and grammar dead
How could I forget Love Mode and Totally Captivated!? TT^TT Also, if you REALLY wanna broaden your horizons there's Partners. It's pretty realistic , so it might not suit your taste, but man is it beautiful. Caution: has s&m and I wanna emphasize the realism cause I don't wanna scar you

I'm a little late to this party, but since you are on tumblr I just wanted to point you to my blogs.

Yaoi Kisses is based on a presentation I did. The Required Reading and Mangaka sections are the titles I think every yaoi fan needs to know.

Eat. Sleep. Yaoi. - This blog is just different titles I've read recently and old favorites. It's good for browsing to get an idea of different art styles.

When you've read more yaoi, and find out what you like, come back and ask for more!

Edited to fix error.

Totally second what OtakuMadness said: Yoneda Kou is a brilliant artist and Doushitemo Furetakunai is probably the only manga I ever rated a straight 10 out of 10 around Baka-Updates ahah. If you're more into BL (really, really soft boy's love) I would also recommend Kanjou Spectrum and Reply by the same author.

Sometimes it gets really hard to find good shonen-ai with so many rubbish out there. The last one I read was Slow Starter by Ichikawa Kei and it was surprisingly refreshing, although the art style got a little iffy at times... eheh.

For more than a mere kiss --

Koujitsusei no Tobira is equally worthy.
Papa's Assasin is very promising (and sexy~ these are both by Shoowa).
Fine Play by Shiuko Kano, although I'm pretty sure it doesn't get very specific.
Kirai ja Nai Kedo and sequels by Sakuraga Mei (the best couple in the series).

Last Client is one of the greatest mangas I've read, but it's been on hiatus forever.
Silence by Takamiya Azuma is another of these cases, sadly. Still worthy I think...

I'm a little too picky myself to be giving suggestions concerning yaoi, but you can always search for mangas in the categories you're most interested in and trust the good old ratings bigrazz

EDIT: Someone mention LOVELESS, well of course I second this. It's the manga of my life, even beyond genre. Ah~~~there are just too many. Have a lot of fun smile
