I'm looking for a manga where the male main character handles situations quite well, maybe taking on responsibilities that he shouldn't be.

Examples of this would be Blood Alone or Kono Oneesan wa Fiction desu!?

Not particularly fond of action, but Blood Alone's Kuroe has the personality of what i'm looking for.

As close to reality as possible would be great, and romance would be a plus.

biggrin

I haven't read either of those examples but one seems to have a supernatural element so

the boy in Shindere Shoujo to Kodoku na Shinigami is reaching Conan levels of intelligence and problem solving. The kid in Tasogare Otome x Amnesia is similar to the dude in bakemonogatari, the plots tend to be the opposite of the premise, debunking myths, and figuring out how mundane things become ghost stories.

Iris Zero certainly fits.
The MC in Gin no Saji fits perfectly
The MC in Baby Steps is responsible and mature but doesn't really take on other's responsibilities.

Shindere Shoujo to Kodoku na Shinigami actually primarily has a male mc and a female mc and the male seems to play the larger role. However, I think it is on hiatus right now anyways.

Papa no Iukoto o Kikinasai! - Would be more on the taking on responsibilities that he shouldn't be side of things.
Denpa Kyoushi - Don't think I would call him mature, but he does handle situations well.
Cage of Eden - Some action in it, but the mc is one hell of a leader.
Kure-nai - From what I remember it was similar to Blood Alone.

Well the guy in Mushishi is very mature and he mostly saves people along his travels...I mean it is partly to do with his job but he also helps others without gaining rewards.

Uchuu kyoudai maybe...although he's not the most mature I can think of he does go out of his way to help others...

Bartender fits pretty well, you have the mc who's very mature and always involves himaself in other's problems, helping them using psychology and various alcoholic concoctions.

Jisatsutou is sort of right but it takes time for him to grow up, in the beginning he's a bit of a brat...well most of the characters are and then they all kind of mature...or kill themselves ^^ lol and yeah he's a helpful kind of guy and at times goes out of his way.

Mononoke? he's mature as far as I remember....but can't really remember him going out of his way...

Sakamoto desu ga? has a mature male lead that calmly leads people to safety or helps them improve themselves so I's say its a pretty good fit.

Mc in Kisswood is mature cause he's old. Plus he's pretty kind (mainly goes out of his way for plants.)

I know you said no to sports but Kokou no hito is about mountain climbing and the mc is pretty close to what you're after.

Lastly The breaker's mc is not strictly mature because he's young but for a kid that age he's fairly down to earth and respectful and stuff and by new waves his personaliy grows quite a bit...main reason for the rec is that he goes out of his way to help the people around him a lot, like to the point where he's almost dead...but it is action, so it might not be your thing.

i have not read your example yet, so please excuse me if my rec is wildly different than your wish.

Kirihito Sanka - a doctor that fight for justice, truth and equality.

Metro Survive - a person that step up the plate in a natural disaster

Anorexia - Shikabane Hanako wa Kyoshokushou - an ordinary guy that handles the craziness of the people surrounding him in a calm way.

Zettai Karen Children - a handler of three supernatural children that keep his cool even when everything goes crazy.

Kodomo no Jikan - a teacher that handles his children's affection in a mature and lawful way.

Already reading bartender, pretty good.

Sakamoto desu ga? fits the part almost too perfectly bigrazz

As for the rest i'm not really looking for adventure/supernatural stuff right now, thanks anyways
