Yep. That's what i thought. But that meant that ever since masaki died, isshin got his powers back right? Still kinda thought he would lose it due to mugetsu, since he knew so much about it. Oh well this makes sense and fits the storyline so im good.

Well Urahara was saying something about how Isshin will get back his powers only when 'that' happens, but before he got to explaining what that was Isshin agreed

The love triangle is brewing quite nicely, but it's sad because I just realised that masaki will die at the end.

So does Masaki die and become a hollow or die and stay a quincy? Either way, where the heck is she?

That Grand Fisher thing is confusing everything about this series. At the beginning of the story, soul + eaten by hollow = 2 hollows. Then Grand Fisher happened and he could make his little dangly thing turn into anyone he had eaten... or maybe it was anyone the person it bit wanted to see. But then Masaki's spirit, through that little dangly thing, helps Ichigo defeat it. So was Masaki inside Grand Fisher, thereby changing all the rules even before all the Hueco Mundo Arrancar stuff, or is she a hollow somewhere in hueco mundo, who was suspiciously overlooked all this time by Aizen, or is she a Quincy who was suspiciously missing from the destruction of Soul Society, or is she an Vaizard that never met up with the others somehow (and also never returned home to her kids who can obviously see ghosts), or is she something else (perhaps one of the "Special War Powers" that the Quincy were talking about).

And speaking of changing the hollow rules, Grimmjow changed them as well, when in a flashback it was revealed that if a hollows that are bitten can't grow anymore...which just seems arbitrary, so I'm placing it here arbitrarily as well.

Grand Fisher has the ability to read someone's mind and will use that to torture them. The lure took on the appearance of his mother for that reason. I don't think it had anything to do with Grand Fisher having taken her soul in.

As for the whole "hollow eating a hollow" thing it seems that the way hollows upgrade is by eating other hollows. I don't know whether any start out as menos class hollows. If a part of you is taken into another hollow, then you can no longer progress upwards.

Urahara said that Masaki's life as she knew it was over pretty much. I don't know much of the details regarding the reishi strings that attach Isshin to Masaki, but it may also make her totally unable to use her powers as well. Question now is does this mean that soul fusion never happens with her?

It seems like Aizen was putting hollows into shinigami, and that would make them explode, and vice versa. I wonder how having the Hougyoku made him able to accomplish it perfectly. Maybe it made him not require two souls put together to make the hybrid, so the problem with soul suicide was averted.

Big question now: how does this all relate to ichigo. Did the hollow somehow pass to him? was it only a part of it? If it did pass to ichigo, was he the hollow from the beginning? he also has shinigami and quincy powers, so he's definitely their son. But was the hollow aspect from his mother as well?

And if the whole hollow went to him, wouldn't she then have been able to return to normal? If it didn't go to him, does that mean that all of her children are part hollow?

Urahara said that Masaki is now half Quincy, half hollow and that by using that contraption, Isshin would become her opposite or half Shinigami, half human… therefore, in my opinion, Ichigo is a combination of all four.

As for the whole hollow going to Ichigo... Urahara said that it is part of her and she can "never go back to the way she was." I took that to mean that it is part of her genetic make up now. Think of humans and genetics. Children of mixed ethnicity show different traits from either side. Children of the same parents may have different attributes. For example, one may have black hair with blue eyes, while the other has blond hair and brown eyes, one short and the other tall... it all depends on which genes are active in the individual. So Masaki and Isshin's children may have some or none of their traits. Yuzu seems more human while Karin seams to have weaker but similar abilities to Ichigo (before Rukia and Urahara got into the picture).
