Well i kinda expected this chapter. Though a bit early, it explains rin's "betrayal" fairly well though. It's kind of a stretch since kishimoto is just putting that there kind of out of nowhere... So this whole time rin was the jinchuriki? Also, why did kakashi just faint after killing rin?

talk about a stretched out theory, since if Rin came back to Konoha and learned to control the jinchuriki wouldn't that be a huge loss for the mist village?? Although the chances of that are 50/50 but they are even bigger if you think about the 3rd, 4th and Kushina(who has great control over jinchuriki) in the mix that the tailed beast will be subdued and maintained inside of her and not go on a rampage....
btw what happens to the tailed beast once the host dies, doesn't it get released unless they can nab it in between confused Many holes(read canyons) in this chapter imo

I think it dies, don't remember exactly where I read that but if the host dies they die and get reborn somewhere else, but I agree their plan does not make a whole lot of sense and is just outright silly and quite possibly hard to do, they would have to unseal it or induce a lot of emotional shit out of Rin to make it happen which I find quite hard to believe seeing as she would be somewhere in Konoha, was kind of an asspull.

seems like an explanation made from writing himself into a corner. Still its better than "I'm destroying the world for a girl nonsense" though its still that just with a new coat of paint to hide some of the bull.

I pray to the Kishi gods that he doesn't give Naruto the Rinnegan. Those things are so ugly, keep them away.

Well besides Rin's death explanation I think that the most important development was that the Juubi sees the other tailed beasts and the Six Paths Sage "incarnated" in Naruto.
Regarding the Rinnegan in Naruto, is it weird to think that he will "awaken" something stronger? Since he does have the Frog Sage's Eye...
Regarding Obito, WTH he has NO HEART? Probably something due to the rock crash in the past? But as I recall I remember his right side was turned into pizza...

Pretty sure Obito cast a genjutsu right before that. (page 14-15)

The kyuubi told something like that to Sasuke WAY back at the beginning parts of the Shippuuden arcs, when Sasuke is inside Naruto's inner world. But elsewhere, it was stated that because they are basically just chakra (and are a "natural disaster"), if you kill the jinchuuriki, the beast will disappear for a little while, before reforming in the vicinity and attacking again.

Agreed, the Mist's plan is convoluted and pretty terrible actually, given Konoha's track record for controlling the bijuu. In fact, the reason Mist even had the 3 tails in the first place was that Hashirama gave it to them. Granted, he's dead by then, but they still had the uchiha clan, almost all of whom had the potential to control the bijuu as well. And they have the Sannin, who can all summon giant creatures, and Danzo, and Hiruzen in his prime.

Im pretty sure he collapsed do to the awakening of the Mangekyou Sharingan and quite possibly the shock of killing Rin mixed with it.

a detonator seal on Rin could explain everything...

1. Rin gets to Konoha
2. Seal detonates and breaks the seal holding the Biju
3.Sanbi goes apeshit on Konoha
4.confused
5. Konoha loses some cannon folder until the Sanbi is defeated.

Is a pretty shitty plan, but it could work in tandem with something else (like a mayor invasion after the Sanbi goes apeshit).

It could be the awakening, or it could be that he over-used Raikiri. His limit when he was teaching Sasuke was 3-a-day, and he was an adult at that point. Maybe he used it once to get her out, and then had to use it again when they attacked and it was too much for him. I doubt we'll ever know though since it's a pretty minute detail.
