This week's poll is from Hatez17. It's sort of an unfair question (in my mind), and the audience for MU will probably skew some of the results. And yes, some of the choices kind of overlap (especially the webcomic choice), but deal with it. We've had sort of similar post polls, but this is the first to explicitly pit the different types against each other.

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related)
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Do you think manga would be better as color or black and white?
Choices:
Color - votes: 2690 (18.7%)
Black and white - votes: 7599 (52.8%)
No preference - votes: 4113 (28.6%)
There were 14402 total votes.
The poll ended: June 1st 2013

Huh, black and white still reigns as king. I guess the rise of webcomics hasn't yet influenced the masses toward wanting more color.

Cant say I prefer Manga over Manhwa (and/or Manhua), But there are more Manga out there, so ofc I have found more Manga that I've enjoyed.

I tend to dislike Western comics... but every now and then you find a gem smile

Also: I have no idea what an OEL is no

It's an unfair poll as many people hardly give a chance to webcomics. Over the years both manhua and manhwa have evolved especially in art. It's a pity may people don't give them a chance or form a biased relationship thanks to few low quality works.

OEL = Original English-language manga.

Manga all the way.
Also, for the previous poll, definitely b&w with some first colored pages.
Makes it special that way.

Manhwa is generally too melodramatic for me (also, the names...), and I don't read manhua.
I've read exactly one OEL that I found interesting.
I'm not into the format webcomics use, so it's hard for me to get into them.
And they're mostly manhwa or manhua, which I don't especially like.
Western comics - American comics are too... American.
I do like French comics, but unfortunately can't read them unless translated.

As for the comments like "I don't know what these are..." read the FAQ or google.

Not the right question to ask on Mangaupdates, off course most people would chose manga as they come for manga over here. none

I would really like to choose both manga and webtoon since there is quite a number of webtoons I really like. But with so much more (sometimes great, sometimes really crappy) manga out there I chose manga this time...-_-;;
I'd like to have a second option...
For the last poll: I just think the quality of manga would drop if they'd do them full-color since the mangaka would have fewer time to think about plot and their drawings if they also have to concentrate on how to color the whole thing...

So you've got bad luck with finding any good ones, I guess you've never checked the database properly. For manhua (yeah, it's a rarity, I've only found one.), but for manwha, their even are some in the top fifty. The modern form of manwha that are released as (manwha) web comics, score even better sometimes than most manga on mangaupdates. Even the first place is taken by one of them, and a second one is going in the direction of the top ten.

I don't have a huge preference between Manga, Manhwa, or manga style Manhua (as opposed to Chinese full color comics which have their own unique style). I guess my knowledge of Japanese puts manga at an advantage though. This category is probably my favorite.

The full color Chinese comics (not sure if there's a specific name for them) are typically gorgeous in art style but I don't care as much for storytelling style and the typical stories I've seen in those comics.

Webcomics are kinda nice, I do really like full color, but i don't know, sometimes i feel like they're lacking something, can't say what.

There have been a couple of Western comics I've really enjoyed, like Sandman or Umbrella Academy but as a whole i don't really care for them as much.

Anything that has a good plot that suits my taste for that particular moment.

I couldn't care less what type it is as long as I like it and I have found some I like from all the types, but western comics have a tendency of being too cheesy and American or just generally crap.

That's because the talented Korean artists end up doing manga for Japanese audiences. You may read a lot of "manhwa" without realizing it biggrin (Until Death Do Us Part? Area D?) Basically, their work gets siphoned off to the popular markets (i.e., Japan), and then all that's left to do proper manhwa are the bad artists.
