I want to read a series that is original and interesting. Something new and refreshing within its genre.
I don't want cliches and stories that's been done before a million times with minor variations.

It could be shounen, shoujo, josei, or seinen, I don't care as long as the story has something new to offer. I'm not really looking for yuri and yaoi stuff, but if it's interesting then I'm willing to give it a try. I also don't care for ecchi because a lot of ecchi usually has some sort of cliche story.

Please check out my list of things I've read/reading before commenting, though not everything I've read is on my list, it'll still help weed some series out.
I have gone through the search and looked at other topics that had similar requests but I'm hoping there will be new ones.

mmm....i don't know whether these are original, but they are certainly interesting to me

Angel Densetsu - very funny, though the plot is a bit cliche'
Beck - i think the characters are well developed
Eden - It's an Endless World! - no one is safe here
Homunculus - interesting protagonist
Marie no Kanaderu Ongaku - the ending is just wow
Apollo no Uta - very very sad
Nijigahara Holograph - the time is manipulated beautifully here
Bokurano - multiple protagonist with distinct voices
G Senjou Heaven's Door - never read a 'manga' manga like this

As far as I know, the MC of Teppuu is quite unique. I definitely found her to be a new and compelling character, with character traits that are usually seen in the antagonists of such stories. The kind that aren't converted to the good guy's side by the power of friendship and flowers.

Too bad there isn't all that much to read since only 19 chapters have been translated AND the series has been on a long hiatus after chapter 21. Which I find to be a damn shame.

Still easily worth the read.

Hellsing The atypical vampire story where the male MC is one of the worst monsters in the series (which is filled with them), with only his loyalty to his master keeping him from being even worse. Definitely the villain of another story and definitely non-sparkly.
