no, doesn't have to be combined, just mangas within those genres similar to the ones I've listed.... I have read Battle Royale and am reading Elfen Lied. Welcome to the NHK I have watched some of the anime, but didn't get too into it

Nijigahara Holograph This is really, really awesome, but sadly only 1 volume. 20th Century Boys Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Onikakushi (this is the first of many chapters. You can read them out of order if you want, mostly.) The Hour of the Mice
There are more, but I think those are the best that you haven't mentioned.
EDIT: Just so you know, the welcome to the NHK manga is a bit better than the anime. Focuses more on the characters and less on the otaku jokes.

Hehehheheh. =D I'm great with the Horror/Thriller genre.. I'm afraid this list will be a bit long. =D
Uzumaki,Claymore,Jisatsu Circle,Goth,Ichi the Killer,Homunculus,Alive!,Freesia,Historie,Deadman Wonderland,Berserk,CAT,7 Seeds,Black Lagoon,ManHole,Ludwig Kakumei,Blood+,BioMeat: Nectar,Parasyte,SkyHigh,Gyo, and Dogs, just to name a few.
And if you don't Mind Lolicon-Guro with a small amount of Hentai, then I suggest you read Tokyo Akazukin. =D
(Some of these are More Horror/Thriller, and some of them more Mindtrip. =D)

I recommend Deadman Wonderland, and Berserk. Full metal alchemist is kinda sorta almost close to being mind trippy-ish

thx for all the suggestions! keep them coming xD my wishlist just got a whole upgrade =)
btw just caught up with biomeat... I have to say, at first I didn't think it'd be better than the normal zombie genre mangas... fortunately I was wrong, it's very engaging and awesome ^^

I was looking through my reading/completed list and found some I had forgotten about because there haven't been any updates for awhile.
MPD Psycho Elfen Lied HighSchool of the Dead (Not really a fan of this one, but its OK.) and Judas (Eh, I didn't like this one all that much, but it was decent.)
I'll keep you posted on any other ones I've read. =D

Second Jisatsu, Goth, Ludwig Kakumei (and most other stuff from Kaori Yuki), Berserk Also DOLL: IC in a Doll by Mitsukazu Mihara (hope I spelled her name right)..not that mind-boggling but it's one of the few that left me inexplainably deeply disturbed after reading it. And if you can tolerate yaoi I'd recommend Shiiku Gakari Rika. Quite a mind trip, I can't look at all-male boarding schools the same way again You might also like Anne Freaks ...even though I didn't read too much of it. Or anything that Omanga scanned. I guess they're exactly what you're looking for.
