I really, really want to buy a series that is licensed in English so that I can read it at any time over the years. I'm a huge sucker for romance so there must be a lot of it. I want it to be engaging and enthralling to where I won't be able to put it down.

Over the years, I have bought a lot of manga, but it ended up being a terrible investment due to the manga ending terribly and leaving me with money wasted.

That being said, I want a manga that :
1. Doesn't waste my money
2. Ends happily
3. Is up-beat (i.e. doesn't get the reader down)
4. Has a lot of ROMANCE
5. Preferably a completed series - if not, it's okay
6. Has a plot that's going somewhere
7. Makes the reader feel emotion/connectedness when reading it
8. Interesting and full of twists
9. Full of hot bishies
10. Makes the reader laugh
11. Never gets old

If you have a manga that you've read that is like this or you have some personal favorites, please suggest them.

My only request is that the mangas are not filled with sex - if any, I want it tastefully done -, gay love, and is not from a guy's point of veiw.

Basara A great shoujo classic licensed by Viz Media. I'm assuming it's all out now.

Just a thought: It might be a good idea to wait until the series that you like are complete before deciding to buy them.

Otherwise, gentleman's alliance cross (a superfavorite but not sure if it would be considered 'timeless'... Ouran high school host club fits there as well, nice box set released by viz for a good price for that one...),

another good one is hapi mari: smut, but not necessarily in every chapter. Completed in Japan, but only recently licensed by viz. not 'full of hot bishies', but worth a shot.

I'd also say fruits basket, but Tokyopop is gone

I loved the asian drama of Hana Kimi. The comedy and romance was the best part. The same goes for Ouran high school Host Club.

My all-time favorite manga is Ouke no Monshou. So, if you could find some mangas like this, it would be a great help. I've already read Red River.
