There are a ton of those. I will throw you a curve ball and recommend Angel Densetsu. But please do not get turned off by the art alone.

There really is a lot but a few that I can remember are.
Beelzebub (this is exactly what your looking for)
Crows (the mc eventually become's feared but is a badass from the start)
Worst (sequel to crows with a different mc but still really good)
Rokudenashi Blues
Holyland (mc starts out wimpy but turns into a total badass)

I'm confused. Did you mean "beard" or is that archaic form of "feared" or something? I also suggest you look into the "delinquent/s" tag.
