I've tried to add releases or groups to this website before which haven't been added, presumably because the groups only translated one chapter or do not have a website. There should be some way to indicate that these chapters were translated.

For example the second chapter of Joshi Shougakusei Hajimemashita was translated by an anonymous group, and anyone coming to the page here will find chapter 1 and chapter 3 listed, but a mysterious gap between those chapters. There are also countless H-manga that have been translated by anons, or one-time contributors and there is no way to list them, which I think is a shame.

Too bad. We have certain rules for quality control

That still doesn't explain why we cannot have a generic link to say ehentai for named groups that release without their own website. To give an example, Hansel translated the first chapter of imouto mode in 2008 but you will not find his translation anywhere except on ehentai. (I assume he translated more manga than one chapter.) With the popularity of manga readers fewer translators bother with their own website and many release directly to batoto.

If we keep defunct groups listed that formerly had a website, and whose releases may have been forever lost, why not list groups with actual releases that never had a website to begin with? Besides, in the past wasn't IRC commonly used instead?

Because we do not allow any of the links on a group's entry page to point directly to a manga reader site

Now, I'm not trying to be a smart-ass, but what exactly defines a manga reader site? For example, I'm wondering why the links for this group, or especially this one, would be considered acceptable, while links to the batoto-based scanlators of Choukakou and King Golf would not.

Both of the groups linked above serve solely as online readers, and the second one (although no longer actively scanlating) has always hosted manga scanlated by other groups in addition to its own. I'm not saying you should change your policy, but it doesn't seem like it's applied in a consistent manner.

If they run their own manga reader, that's fine. But no group entry has a link directly to something like Batoto or MangaFox. Every group should have its own portal or site, which in turn can link to a manga reader if they so choose. Only MangaStream's group entry can have a directly link to their site, since it's THEIR site and their scanlations are made directly by the people running that site (or at least allowed to use their name on the credits)
