Tags (or Categories) you avoid like the plague.


When searching for manga to read what tags do you see that make you said "No, I'm not giving this a shot because it has ___ in it". Maybe why you avoid them.

Categories (Tags) Cloud to refresh your memory on what tags you hate to see in a manga.



For me it's
Crybaby Protagonist (along with the other crybaby ones), Emotionally Weak Female Lead, Bittersweet Ending, Love Triangle/s (and polygons). There's probably more, but sleepy ... I just hate the weak mushy stuff.

I'm surprised all the hentai tags in the cloud! I guess I typically don't see them because I don't look at those series.

Maybe because I'm bad at dealing with dark themes (funny, because I love the dark ambience tag). It has to be really good and recieve good reviews for me to read it (example: Endless World, I really love it). I avoid it almost every time (like with Nana to Kaoru...), only giving a chance when I know the subject will be treat seriously, like in a josei manga... If I see "Stockholm Syndrome" in a shoujo, it will probably be a bad story development.

I think the only thing that can stop me from reading something is yaoi. I'm just not into that kind of stuff. Shounen-ai is okay though, for some weird reason - though, the only series that I'm reading where it applies is Shounen Oujo, and I only excuse it because the story is great. I also don't think I'd like the Affairs tag very much, but I've never encountered it so I wouldn't know.

I don't think anyone likes an axed ending.

Lastly, I now dread reading series that have both Coming of Age and Loneliness in the tags. I'm not the type to cry over stories but the two series that I've read with those tags (Holyland and Onani Master Kurosawa), really turned the waterworks on full blast. I'm almost scared at what I'll find in the other 3 manga that share those two tags.

For me, sorry BL fans but I really detest and avoid ASAP when I find the following:

Yaoi and Shounen-ai (I know, they're categories)
Harem and Ecchi (ditto)

Boy's love as a subplot
Emotionally weak female lead
Rushed ending/axed
Female lead falling in love first (sorry for being shallow x.x)

Edit: Forgot to add:
Tsundere female lead
Inconclusive ending
Crybaby female lead

i'm like you, i hate those weak females. but i dont avoid them if the other tags are great, like incest or yandere or older female younger male relationships ( like in Yoru Made Matenai. i friggin love shota). so if there are no other intriguing tags i avoid tags that imply weak females.

i dont normally seek hentai here, but when searching for such i usually avoid scat or impregnation or furry. scat is really really not what i like but i sometimes bear it in non hentai but dark humour manga like Kenkou no Sekkei. the mangaka just love poops.

i also try not to read torture manga much, it makes me sick. i love ero guro, gore and the like, but only if they kill each other not slowly mutilating a helpless person.

and of course i tend to avoid the dicontinued tags, but i'll read it if theres loads of praise or it look really really good like Fire Candy

Weak (or a crybaby) female lead.
The same goes for male leads too since I can't stand those indecisive lame-ass losers who suddenly get themselves a harem
Well, if the other tags are good I might reconsider and give it a chance.

Others I'm not too fond of:

-Rape (Obivously)
-Harem (...)

-Josei (Don't take me wrong, there are good josei series out there)
-Scifi (Again there are some I like)

Rushed/axed ending

I really hate harem. Rushed endings are usually bad, and prostituion almost always ends in tragedy.
Other than that, I can take a lot.

Well let's see...

I can kinda read harem/reversed harem/love triangles/love polygon things...well they have to be well written Some of them are so annoying

What I can't read (like I get sick if I read it):

Yaoi, Yuri, Shounenai, Shoujo-ai...yeah I'm not into guy/guy or girl/girl relationships :S <----oops these are Genres...BUT I dislike Bromance, boy love subplot, etc..any tags/cats that go along with these genres
Incest
Rape (though I HAVE read some with this in it...the authors don't always write about it in a way I want to see it *shrug*...there was a good oneshot about this...)

There are things like abuse that I try to stay away from, too. Too much about those are from past experiences for me :S I'd rather not relive that stuff if I can.

I don't always like weak females, but I DO like a female that is weak physically if she is intelligent or whatever. If she is able to support the other characters, then I'm all for that...like I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kanata Kara! Noriko is one that I'm talking about. She isn't strong physically, but there's THIS
strength about her.

I am sure there are more I don't like...but that's a good start Most of the others depend on my mood
