This thread is in two parts, and for both males and females.
- How do you prefer your own hair to be like?
(color, length, down or up, straight, curly or wavy, [facial hair - men only ... of course.])

- What kind of hair attracts you to someone?
(May also include facial hair preference for attractions in males)




- For me I prefer long (for me that means covers most of the back) dark red hair (A cross between maroon, and magenta) curly (Big curls), Half up, half down hair.

- For guys I like straight black, or brown (any shade of brown), short to mid long (I mean in guy terms mid long would be an inch or two) hair. Add five o'clock shadow. . If with a beard more of a rugged look than shaggy, otherwise a clean shaved face.
For gals there's two looks I prefer. One being the short haired (ear length) any color. The other long black or brown hair that's either straight or wavy. *Note a reason why I said for both men, and women's hair. Not meant to be an example of how you prefer others hair in general.

1) I like my hair long, very long. I'm 185cm and its about 10-15cm from my waist so yeah it's pretty long. Oh it's brown btw. Regarding facial hair, I leave it to my mood, if I wanna shave, I shave, if not, I don't. Now it's been 3weeks since I haven't shaved. Funny thing is that my family tells me I look like Jesus when I grow my beard and start adressing me as "Your Holyness", "Jesus Allmighty" and "Saviour"
2) Don't have a prefference regarding women having short or long/longish hair.

1. I like my hair in a lot of ways. Now it is long and a bit orange, like a redhead... I used to have red hair, it was quite awesome as well. I really like the color it is now, a bit like this. I want to cut it reeeeeeally short, tomboyish, because I also think it is such a nice hair cut!! But I love it long and I think it fits me better... I want, but I don't want to.

2. I like all types of hair on other people too. Be it boys or girls, long or short, I feel attracted to all kinds of haircut (even the ones with no hair at all ). But I must say I really like a beard, I find it quite sexy in some people, yes, but I'm also fine with a clean face. As you can see, I'm up to anything...

1. I tried growing my hair out really long, but I never had the patience for it and it didn't really suit me much anyway. I think I'm really into the short, A-line kind of haircut now It's very light, fresh, and youthful (my, what an old-fashioned thing to say).
2. Hm. I don't really have a hair preference for guys, as long as they're overall slightly attractive with a nice personality I'm cool. I guess straight hair, not too short but not too long.

1. Long hair, but it's always short since I like getting it cut. I think it feels nice.
2. Blond-->light brown, mostly short, sand-blonde hair. uh. To clarify, I think people can look good however they choose to present themselves (really), but my first crush had that hair color and even though I don't really like him anymore, he imprinted on me in a weird way.

I hate having my hair cut so in order to do it as rarely as possible I usually cut it quite short, then let it grow past my shoulders, then it gets really annoying and I have to cut it again.

And for preferences in other people... I don't think I have any. Just whatever they want and whatever suits them. The only thing I find unacceptable is when men (and some women too) have very long hair and don't take proper care of it. I remember sitting in a bus behind a guy whose hair was so dry I'm sure it would crunch like dry leaves if I touched it. So many split ends. I really felt like telling this guy to cut like half of it and start using a better shampoo, and maybe conditioner too. But I didn't, because it's none of my business

Hahaha. We call my cousin Jesus because of his long hair and beard too. For Christmas one year, "Santa" present pranked him with a Jesus costume... funny stuff..

For myself, I prefer long hair. It's currently changing shades between red and brown every time I visit my colorist, right now it's "chocolate cherry." I actually think I look prettier with curly hair but it's way too time consuming and they don't last, so most of the time I keep my hair straight. In general, as long as your hair suits you and it's healthy, go for it.

As for someone I would date - ponytails turn me off. I prefer above the collar hair cuts and no bushy beards (they irritate my skin so bad... it's like porcupine quills to the face) Mullets look bad on everyone.

1. I like my curly black hair just slightly past my shoulder. Not too long but I still can make it into ponytail. Unlike other asian young female who dyed their hair into brown, blond, etc, I prefer my hair stay black.

2. I like black hair, or dark brown. I'm sorry but light hair color tend to make me think the guy less manly and I have a thing for Tall, Dark and Dangerous type

For my own hair, I prefer easy to take care of - it's straight, dark blonde, and VERY thick. I've grown it long enough to sit on, and cut it short enough to be completely off my neck in the back (though it was longer in front). For the last while I've been getting some variation of a bob (usually around chin length), growing it out for a couple of years, and then getting another bob. Basically I'm too poor/lazy to mess with it more often than getting it cut every two years or so.

For other people's hair, whatever looks good on that individual. I've liked long & short hair of pretty much every color & style; the only exception I can think of is dreadlocks on people with zero African ancestry which IMO looks ratty & terrible as their hair texture just doesn't make good dreads.

edit - It has been pointed out to me (offline) that some folks without African ancestry also have hair texture that works well for dreadlocks. The hair texture was really the point there but I sure could have found a better way to say it.

I usually prefer my hair short but my hair has been growing out strange lately...kinda like a mushroom. I look exactly like the mc of Mairunovich at the start of the manga.

1. I like my hair to be medium length(for guys) but I do have a long bangs though.. My hair color atm is brown with a shadE of red, like dalek's example... I prefer not having facial hair..
2. I like a girl's hair that is either long or short, bUt I do dislike hair that is shoulder length..

I dunno. I tend to like dark haired people more. I heard somewhere that darker haired people are considered "more attractive" because of the contrast between hair and skin. It makes sense but then again I feel like blondes are really desired....

I like guys with short hair! I seem to love curly haired guys. but I really hate long hair on guys. I think I only found 1 person in my whole life where I liked it-- he looked super hipster like an artsy musician and always carried a guitar around.

I have pin straight hair but I wish I could get the "bed head" effortless look with lots of volume and loose curls. My hair's just thick and straight super healthy, too, which makes it really hard to dye.....
I wish I could pull off the short, sassy cut with bangs and look really mod. I also wish I could pull off a boy cut but I can't. Seems short hair looks horrid on me.

I've got a curly/wavy and abundant type of hair. I tend to keep it either really short or kinda long. When my hair is long, I want to go bald or short, as it is so damn easy to live with that kind of a hairdo. No need to maintain it at all. When I have longer hair, it gets all wonky and there can be some extremely gravity defying sculptures sticking out of my head in the morning. It still looks pretty neat when it isn't all fucked up, but getting there needs quite a bit of work and skill that I lack. At the moment I am growing it again and it is about 9 cm/3.5 inches long. It grows fairly fast though. I have above average hair growth rates. Aiming to get a ponytail, but not go a lot further than that. I used to have hair all the way to my lower back and it just gets unruly.


I don't really care what kind of hair guys have, but I utterly hate even bangs on any gender, like, stop. That's just another way to do a bowl cut. Even anything looks bad to be honest. Straightened and evenly cut hair also looks like shit to me. Even bangs on women might look okay if you have bushy eyebrows. I like short hair on women in general, but I also think that if you have a fair and thick hair type, braided hair, especially over the shoulder looks super adorable, one braid only and not too tightly braided though, as pig tails make you look like a kid or a teen porn star.

As for beards, I've got a Johnny Depp kind of a thing going on. I kinda like a thin beard all over the jawline with a thin mustache combined to it. Stubble can look really good too. Most beards don't fit my face I'd say, They ruin my boyish charms and make me look like a grown man. I might be turning 24 soon, but I still get eyeballed by high school girls. Doesn't happen with a beard.

It's gone, all gone. Well, at least I would say 98% of all my hair is gone, just gone. I decided to go cut it short, very short since I got tired of it and thought that it would be awesome to not recognize myself in the mirror.
Still after around 4 hours of having my hair short for the first time in 3years 3months, I find it quite comfortable and funny, just funny.
