Creus (from the novel) has one of my all time fav personalities, and so I was hoping to find some more characters with the same type of personality.

-MUST be extremely smart at plotting.
-Bonus if everyone thinks they're an idiot/angel
-MUST not be 100% bad, and win 90% of the time
-Would prefer them to be MC or the second most commonly seen character
-Is very protective of friends
-Gets the best revenge, while no one knows who it is
-NO BL, GL, harem or perverted stuff
-No extremely sad endings
-I always give completed manga priority

a few more examples that come close:
Lelouch - Code Geass
Shin-gi - Zippy Ziggy (Downside is his personalty is constantly trying to be "fixed")
Hiruma - Eyeshield 21 (Not innocent looking, but he's just plan awesome)

Thanks for any suggestions!

I'm sure you're probably already aware, but there's the novel version Legend of the Sun Knight (novel). He's slightly more sinister and the hilariousness is a bit more too.

Ooh, BTW, there are translations up for character side stories, which are not covered in the manhua. It covers Sun and the other knights, as well as Sun's teacher. I recommend reading them after volume 4 or 5 of the novels, for more enjoyment and potential spoilers (though I think they're pretty minor, even if you've only read the manhua. Just don't read the comment on Prince Revolution.)

If you're feeling like reading a long novel series, there's The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor (Novel). He's money grubbing and puts up a front of being a nice guy but nearly everything he does has an ulterior motive. I was addicted to the series at first, but then it got same-y. It doesn't seem to have an overarching plot other than leveling up (or at least at around volume 8ish, it felt that way).

A bit of a stretch, but possibly Akatsuki from Rex Fabula? He's kind of a bad guy that's mostly good. Does seem to care about his allies (has a soft spot for a friend, much to his annoyance). Doesn't care about others so long as they don't do anything against him. He will get back at people (but is more outright about it than Creus). Though I honestly think he resembles Light from Death Note more.

Totally love Creus. He's such a cunning likeable bastard. Unfortunately, he's pretty unique as a "hero."

Actually, it was the novel version of him I was referring to. I should probably make that clear in my first post.

Sounds interesting, I'll give it a try.

I know, he's one of the most hilarious characters I have ever found, and I always love characters with a streak of evil in them.

Thank you so much for your response and suggestions. (^_^)

Here come the Yu Wo fans~

Ark (Novel) and The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor (Novel) should fit. Ark in particular is showing nice character development in regards to friends (Weed not so much).

Cheese in the Trap - fits the criteria really well, especially getting revenge in secret.

Bloody Monday possibly. A bit more horrific in terms of genre though.

Historie - not too big on revenge, but the rest fits.

I'd recommend Magic Kaito, but only the latest 8 chapters, due to quality. Kaito also appears in Detective Conan, but only now and then. Conan should fit your criteria aside from revenge, so you could check DC out either way. If you want particular plotty action, I recommend the movies. biggrin A new one comes out every year.

I LOVE Cheese in the Trap, and it's a perfect suggestion. (^_^) Thanks!

I've read Magic Kaito before, and while he's a trickster, he doesn't give off that hidden evil vibe I love. Still a good read though.

Ark looks interesting, I'll read that next.

I've seen Historie before, but don't remember reading it. I'll take a look, same with Bloody Monday. Thanks for the suggestions!

Ah, you want hidden evil vibes? Hmm, not sure if Historie and Bloody Monday fit then...The characters step into illegal activity, but they're generally good guy types.

Durarara!! (Novel) might work.

I feel like I know a lot more, but maybe it's just that LMS is so long that I registered it as multiple series...Raaagh someone need to translate those missing volumes...

Thanks! I'll check it out!

I also like evil characters who are actually nice, they just are missing common sense/moral sense. Like Ocha Nigosu. So if you can think of any of those, feel free to recommend them too. (^_^)

Another title that sorta fits: Lasboss x Hero

Mangaka's shounen manga is about to be axed. So he thinks of the most dramatic shocking ending ever, but in the process is transported into his manga. He leads a double life in a sense because he has to get along with the characters in his world, while wanting to end it in order to go home. Not sure where exactly the story's going, but MC has evil potential? (I'm actually super nervous that the author will cop out on the "evil" and just make this in a gag manga.)

Points where it doesn't fit your request:
- Has ecchi stuff. I actually hate ecchi stuff, but I found it sorta funny since it's presented as a parody of sorts. I could still do without it, but I'm okay with it in this manga. At least, with what I've read so far.
- MC is not terribly smart, but has some mild quick thinking moments. (MC's intelligence is actually made fun of at some point, lol.)

Hmm, an interesting premise.

I may take a look, but I also hate ecchi, unless I like the story line so much I can't help but read anyway. And I REALLY want a genius MC. At least a genius in plotting, not necessarily a genius in everything. And it seems like the MC in LasbossXHero doesn't have that "nice to friends" streak I'm looking for.

But I definitely will check it out. Thank you so much for taking the time to think of another suggestion. (^_^)
