Slice of life and harem kinda go hand in hand when you think about anime back when I was in middle school. Maybe I got older now that I am sort of bore with the anime that I initially enjoy.

But ya, just the past week I got back to the slice of life genre. The first one was "Kids on the slope." I was surprise that I really enjoyed that series. Though toward the end it was kinda too depressing. Then I found out about "The Devil Is a Part-Timer!" A totally hilarious series. Since it base on a light novel, they must have follow the source material because they could have done a lot more with that premise. That series does have flaws but since I enjoy it so much I didn't care.

The last one that I just finished is "Silver Spoon." I knew about the manga for a while. Even "Fullmetal Alchemist", I enjoy the anime way better. But Silver Spoon, I didn't even give the manga a try. Though I didn't surprise that I really like the anime because I knew the mangaka is a solid writer.

In many way "Silver Spoon" can be more depressing than "Kids on the Slope" at time. But it was a feel good depressing. I don't particular like the helplessness one got when someone no longer in somebody's life for years like the ending of "Kids on the Slope." Even when they got back, their best years are already behind them.

So ya, any recommendation for Slice of Life series? Something along the likes of those 3. I previously enjoy Fruit Basket but that was ages ago. I don't know if I still do. I do know about Ouran High School Host Club. But I need to get into a certain mood to watch those series.

Of the three I mentioned above, I like "Silver Spoon" the best.

Well, I'm not sure if these are like them (since I've never really read them myself....)
but, some of the slice of life I've read are:
Cheese in the Trap
My Oh
Gaussian Blur
The Dragon Next Door - hillarious btw
3 Level Combination - kinda depressing
Annarasumanara - kinda depressing too (but I found it interesting & good)
Kagerou Days
Yozakura Shijuusou

Not sure if they count as slice of life but...
Coda
Famous Man
7-nin no Shakespeare
UnLeong

haha thanks, actually, I don't want to read slice of life. Not even that "Silver Spoon," though, anime is a different matter.

Well, you asked for slice of life, but I don't really think what you had read is really representative of the genre, of course this is a thread asking for recommendations, but allow me some freedom and let me stray a lil' bit from your request to make some recommendations:

Yotsubato!
Otoyomegatari
Mushishi
Barakamon
Nodame Cantabile
Piano no Mori
Ookami to Koushinryou
Bartender
