Because the latest chapter is being made available for free (and without even the hassle of registering, which is always a bonus). Yes, I realize it's restricted to only the US, but we're still allowing it to be added as a group even though they technically aren't scanlators.
Other publishers who make a digital version of a series that is easily available online for free (even if it's only restricted to the US) can also be added as scanlators.

Hmm... Have heard the name but don't really know anything about it, but since it seems to be a paid service I guess I finally have a reason to use the "hide this groups scanlations" option...

well I like the idea of giving support to companies that are trying to use legal means to let people read manga. Even if its restrictive, at least its a start

How long before the actual scanlators working on CrunchyRoll titles are removed from the "Releases" page?
Why does CrunchyRoll not accept foreign viewers in any case? The US isn't the only English-manga reading country in the world.

The restriction to the US makes it useless for many users, I really don't understand this scanalators' policy. Is this site's purpose to make manga known only to the American people?
And yes, legal means to read manga is indeed a good thing, but does that mean that we must count even the printed volumes as "releases", then?

I think that they also have a site for people in the UK, and a few other non-English speaking countries. As the previous poster said, it is likely because of distribution rights.
Overall I agree with this move. I think what most readers want are free and legal copies of manga. It'd be great if the people involved in actually making the manga (mangaka, editors, publishers, etc) receive the funds they are due from foreign readers through advertising.
As for the second part of your comment, I have come across manga listed on this website as being fully scanlated but when searching for them could only find printed volumes. I've never reported these manga because I couldn't tell if it was a problem with me just not being able to find where the scanlations are, or if someone really did just mark the manga as complete because it is now licensed and all the volumes are available in English for purchase. It isn't rare that I come across manga where there is no information on the scanlators or releases, yet it is still marked complete.

I ... can't enter crunchyroll as im not from USA or any country supported (caribbean sea one...) any way i'm glad this site is supporting CC, because that does help "spread the word of manga", if a company ( made to make money) care about doing scanlators work (give manga translated for free) why cant we advertise their work?. If anything i'd love to be banned those that complain which only harm the "spread of the word".
P.D oh... right i may try some VPN prog
... maybe i can get in if i get an USA IP or UK muahahahahaha.
P.D 2 it seems now they let my country in... in at least 6 different languages... another Plus and it is even less expensive than a WOW account :/

All series information is reported by users, some of whom get things wrong or don't understand our policies.

Can the "Hide this group's releases on the Releases page" apply to the reading list's unread release?
Sort list by Unread release is a feature that support me keeping current on the 176 series on my reading list without going nuts.
Crunchyroll's manga reader is far behind the readers used years ago thus no worth the time to use it even it is 10 to 40+ chapters ahead then other "groups".
Disclaimer - I am a Crunchyroll - Anime supporter with a active subscription ever since they started legal subs of anime.
Sort list by Unread release is a feature that support me keeping current on the 176 series on my reading list without going nuts.

There are certain manga's that indeed have been completely scanlated, but because of the manga title/publisher the group doesn't post their name's. Take Sweep! for example though it's completely scanlated you will not find the group name anywhere.
