1. Sports shounen/seinen. No shoujo.
2. Best if completely scanlated but if not, at least completed in country of origin
3. No Ecchi (or at least not so much that it distracts from the story)
4. This isn't really required but I prefer longer mangas over oneshots and 1 volume mangas
Mangas I liked:
- Prince of Tennis
- Kuroko no Baket
- Overdrive
- Nononono
- One Outs
- Kokou no Hitou
- Eyeshield 21
- Beniiro Hero
Didn't like:
- Air Gear
Some things I like in a sports manga:
- character development
- geniuses
- people who get really good at the sport.
- passionate/intense training or competition
Things I don't like:
- focus strays from sport
- weak heroine/hero
Read:
- Air Gear
- Beniiro Hero
- Buzzer Beater
- D-ASH
- Dear Boys
- Dear Boys Act II
- Eyeshield 21
- Fight no Akatsuki
- Giant Step
- Hikaru no Go
- Hoop Men
- I'll
- Kokou no Hito
- MVP wa Yuzurenai!
- Nononono
- One OutsPsychological
- One Outs: Miwaku no All-Stars-hen
- Over Drive
- Power!!
- Purikyuu
- Sayonara Football
- Slam Dunk Tennis no Ouji-sama
- Traveling Girl
- Ushiro no Pleiades

Read D-ASH.
15: Meisetsu Kougyou Koukou Rugby Bu seems short but I'll try it anyways, thanks.
Any other suggestions?

Ace of Diamond, it's great and you can check out the ongoing anime adaptation.
Also Ookiku Furikabutte, the MC isn't the most confident, but he gets development.

Baby Steps Ongoing 200+ chapters. Tennis. Great manga, what Prince of Tennis could have been without super sayian moves, unique protagonist (not really a genius, but definitely smart, a hard worker, and strategist).
Hajime No Ippo Ongoing. Professional Boxing. Must Read. Great overall manga, with likable characters and great comedy. But... after this many years (1000+ chapters) I think the author is out of ideas and relies more and more on fantasy attacks/moves and ippo's matches have become a joke, still if you like PoT, and Eyeshield 21 you probably won't mind.
Ookiku Furikabutte Ongoing. Baseball. You might not like it since the pitcher is psychogically weak (very shy, doesn't talk much, etc...), but still great manga I think, probably the most detailed one about baseball, try it.
Major Complete. Baseball. Follows the main protagonist from his years in little league to his professional career in the US. The only sports manga covering so much time I think, very interesting.

Giant Killing is a football manga and by football I mean the English kind. The moves are realistic and it continues to be gripping because of the interesting strategy and character development.
if you want some that are interesting but not exactly mainstream, try:
Attaque- webtoon about fencing. Unusual not just because of the choice of sport but also because the MC is not your typical stupid, happy-go-lucky guy with incredible strength. Unfortunately it is not as long as i'd like it to be.
REAL- about paraplegic basketball. Can't really describe it. It's great.
EDIT: Giant Killing and REAL are ongoing but they are pretty long and there should be sufficient material for you to catch up.

No Side is great. Good twist, strong protagonist, and nice character development. It has just a small amount of ecchi, and they handle it skillfully so that it doesn't get in the way.
If my opinion's of any use: I didn't like it that much because it kept getting distracted from the plot via harem girls and somewhat pointless side plots. The ecchi level was also excessive for my tastes. I read it years ago though, so my recollection may be off.

Major, although not completely scanlated, has a complete and faithful anime, it's one of my favorites.
Cross Game is also good.
Although not complete, Area no Kishi and Haikyuu!! are worth a read as well.

My thoughts exactly.
Ace of Diamond, Ookiku Furikabutte, Baby Steps, Hajime No Ippo, Giant Killing, Area no Kishi, Haikyuu!!, Yowamushi Pedal, Lost man, All Rounder Meguru, Fantatista, Capeta, 1/11 are on my wait list.
Though, I am reading REAL and Ahiru no Sora because it's about basketball.
Hm, I'm not sure I'll like Adachi's works. I'm putting off reading his manga because his art just isn't interesting
Attaque looks good. I'll read that.
I'll read RRR, Cross Manage, Rookies, and Whistle! too.
Hmm, I guess I'll take a look at No Side.
I'll put Angel Voice, MAGiCO, Capeta, and King Golf on my wait list.
Thanks for all the suggestions!

Teppuu- Female MMA. I can't say much about Character Development yet, but she's a genius, strong and there's intense training. It's GOOD, but sadly there's only about 22 chapters out right now.
and maybe Bowling King? - Bowling as the title suggest. The guy is a genius as well, but I think there's some fan-service moments.
