She should've totally ended up with the best friend! It was complete bull for him to stay with his ex cause her family got into a car accident. I hate endings like that. >:-( And all throughout the manhwa, I saw more love between her and the best friend then her and the guy she ended up with. I don't like such sad endings *was cheering for the best friend* I don't remember names well btw XD

Ichigo 100%. I'd also consider school daysthough not in a sense my favorite pair didn't end up together but because the couples there definitely went wrong, If you know what I mean.

Okay, so I hate Tooya and wanted Aya with Yuuhi. But, well, the way I see it, Tooya is gonna die soon, anyway, so Aya will be free and she and Yuuhi will raise the child... kinda like a Lady Georgie type of ending.

Hello?! Ayame can do sooo much better than that little idiot! And even Yuki, what's up with that?! But then again, the only final pairing I really liked - aside from Kyo/Tohru and Haru/Rin - was Akito/Shigure. I also didn't like Hatori/Mayu... I mean, Hatori still loves Kanna, you know he does!

From Candy Candy:

I loved Anthony, and after his death, really supported the Terence/Candy pairing (even an Archie/Candy I would have greatly approved! Especially since I don't like Annie at all!)... but... nada! Okay, so I know Albert's really cool and everything, but... Terence! Terence, I tell you!

From Kakan No Madonna:

Yeah, yeah, I know Falco is great, rich, hot, and a really nice guy. And he loves Leonora. I do know that. And I like Falco a lot, too. But... but... Cesare!! I know it's not Saito-sensei's fault because this is history we're talking about - Italian history, hehehe - so you can't change the facts and have my beloved Cesare Borgia marry her, because it's widely known of his life and, alas, premature death (yeah, I know he's the bad guy here)... but I just like him so much! He was one of my favorite historical characters way before I read this manga... I just adore him!

You spoke my mind! I've read all the series you've mentioned, though I don't remember much for Marmalade Boy.

I'm pretty okay with Ayashi no Ceres, since all I care about is Ceres, Aki and Shiso Mikagi and I got them where I want them... or close to it biggrin

Fruits Basket... er.. actually I got to a point where I don't really care anymore and all I want was for the darn thing to end already (though there were certain pairings made me squeal madly with joy)

As for Candy Candy, I can't help but agree with you. And I'm pretty sure a lot of people find the ending unsatisfying because of what happened. I mean, they were practically meant for each other!

And Kakan no Madonna... heh, I can't say much without spoiling others but you echo my thoughts laugh

Personally, there's a lot of pairings which I wasn't happy with, partyly because I tend to go for the underdog of the love-triangle (I usually root for the good guy who does everything but gets nothing in the end). dead

But just to name a few:

From Ao no Fuuin by Chie Shinohara:

Although I was satisfied with the ending and the Souko/Akira pairing. I just want more development for Takao/Souko. He's her sexy, dark husband in the past (even though she loves another now), I don't think anything can rival his love and devotion for her. It must have killed him (yeah, he's dead, so?) to hide his feelings for her, knowing she could never be his again and it's not even his fault! I don't need much, just a prequel showing how they once were!

From Kanon by Chiho Saito:

Kanon/Mikami >:-( I'm not a fan for incest but... god, I really wish for them to be together. I was so disappointed to find out their true relationship cause I really love all their interaction prior to this. They were practically meant for each other! X_X

From Red River by Chie Shinohara:

Rufasa/Nefert! >:-( If only I could just shake him to his senses, dang it!! Nefert is beautiful, intelligent, spunky and full of life, albeit cunning and mischievous. And she actually likes him but no! He only have eyes for Yuri (and so does the rest of male cast) >:-( and look where it got them to... either they die or lose their throne!

From Utena by Chiho Saito

Touga/Utena! Yeah, he hurt her in some ways, but I feel that in the end, he proved himself to be the most devoted one to her. I just wish Utena could see that he's the one for her. He'll never be her prince (she doesn't need one anyway) but he is the only one that can stand equally next to her TwT

I can't think of anymore at the moment. I only name these two authors cause I've just revisited their books recently and realised that how unsatisfied I am at the pairings even though I enjoyed the stories immensely.

You know... honestly, I can't think of anything that I've read that I've really disliked the pairing at the end. They've all gone the direction I thought they should've thus far. I guess if I ever find one, I'll let you know. Who knows, I might be disappointed with Boku wa Kiss de Uso o Tsuku.

Edit: Come to think of it, I might be disappointed by La Corda d'Oro too, since I can't figure out who she'll end up with.

I so wanted Arata to be with Kanoko. I mean he is the best obvious choice and I do believe that he did love her as more than just Agemaki. I guess the choice was too obvious but really, Tsubame was too much of a spazzy, jealous brat. He got way too clingy and overly protective when Arata was just trying to get to know her, even though he and Kanoko weren't even dating.

Crossroad

Yeah I wanted Kajitsu to be with Akai (see sig below). Personallity-wise, they both compliment each other and I loved their interactions and the fact that they stayed in touch with each other at the end of the series (even with their 'break up' and all) showed how strong their friendship/relationship was. *sighs and kicks Natsu*

Yes Fruits Basket...other than Kyou/Tohru (though I did like Yuki/Tohru for a little bit) and Haru/Rin, I hated all the ending pairings.

Akito/Shigure: Wow this relationship was twisty and dark. Yes the whole paper flower thing when they were young was sweet and all but honestly, seeing how they've become and how off some of their 'relationships' to other people were, bringing the two together would just mess them up even further. I guess the mangaka thought that two twisty people could heal each other?

Hatori/Mayu: I hated the whole 'I love my best friend's boyfriend so I go emo-ish him for a while (while 'dating' his best friend) because I want my friend to be happy though I eventually get him' storyline.

Hanajima/Kazuma: I don't know if they actually do end up together though there were a lot of hints to her liking him. I think that he is a bit too old for her and also, it's your best friend's boyfriend's 'father'. That's just a little....eh...

Yuki/Machi: When Machi first showed up, I immediately thought 'ok this is Yuki female version' so imagine my slight disgust that they end up together. This relationship just feels like Yuki wanting to fix her the way that Tohru fixed him.

Though I liked Aram, I kind of wanted to see Airi with Jeille. I could imagine all sorts of cute scenerios of their relationship:

J: Oh Mountain Lily Maiden, do me the honor of marrying me and becoming my first (only) wife! *sparkles and roses start raining down*

A: No way! *pouts* That's not how it's done in Tales of Marriage on the Prairie!

100% Perfect Girl

Ok now this series is still ongoing but I'm guessing that Jay is going to end up with Jarte much to my displeasure. I mean Jay has changed so much from the strong-willed girl that she used to be from the first volume. After becoming entrapped in Jarte's life with all those problems, she's become a shadow of her former self. As of chapter 65, she's basically been reduced to being his sex slave. Really, the two are better off without each other. I'd rather see Jay with Mr. Lennox (and his amusing fear of women though I think that's been settled due to being with Jay) and Jarte with whoever. He could go gay with that bodyguard of his for all I care.
