I personally had an old iPod photo b4 it broke then I went with the 30gig Zune which was really nice, the old firmware was meh, but the new one is very stylish. Just yesterday I got an iPod touch and it's sick shit (though apparently the sound quality sucks, but hey I don't have 230 dollar headphones).

I have a Sansa (e200 series) but I am looking into a new MP3 player since the battery doesnt hold nearly the charge that it used to (down to like 8 hours from 20). Its really just a shame nothing with great features (aside from the e200 series) has a removable battery. You have to get one through the warranty or pay to get a new one through the producer for almost everything.

I consider iPods to be evil, since they really arent all that great and insanely overpriced considering the features you get with them. The only reasonable iPod is the touch, and only because it does stuff other mp3 players dont.

I have an ipod. Soon I need to upgrade to a new mp3 player that stores more music. I don't really care if it's an ipod or not. First I really want to ATH-EM7GM clip-on headphones before I get a new mp3 player.

You guys never heard of regular good ole` sagem mobiles with MP3 player included? 0_o...
In here most of us go with mobile phones, because they have integrated mp3's, photo camera, agenda and anything else, depending on how much money you're willing to throw on the proverbial window...
I've got a Sagem my411x that I got at around 40$. And although I only have 1 GB of memory, bigger memory cards aren't too hard to find bigrazz and you could also buy more and just switch them around (one of them I guess is around 10-15$).

iriver ifp-799, discontinued but i've had it for years and survived bumps, drops, and grazes magnificently. Sound is awesome, but Sony's is the best for Sound quality, but they're awful for Software. I wonder how many people actually go for things like ipods simply because it looks cool and it's the "in" thing. It's a shame when people do that for what is supposed to be a gadget for music listening.

I caught on the digital-music-bug quite early so I already bought an iPod when it first came out. I've been using my first generation ipod until recently---when it finally gave out. Then I bought a simple Philips 4GB mp3 player. Just a simple one, I don't need all the bells and whistles on my portable devices. As long as the interface is good and I can listen to music with it, I'm all set.

I have the iTouch it is one hellavua amazing device. Expensive as shit but one of the coolest things in the world. Although from what I've wikied this other device, the Cowon A3 is sick, manly because of it's comprehensive video support (supports H.264, WMV, Dvix/Xvid, MP4, AVI, OGM, MKV, VOB, DAT, MTV, and MJPEG, just doesnt support quicktime) It also has a ridiculous audio support too (MP3, M4A, AAC, WMA-DRM, WMA Lossless, WMA, WAV, Ogg Vorbis,FLAC, APE, MPC, PMC, TTA, WV) lol some of the music file types ive never even heard of (MPC, PMC, TTA and WV mostly)

I'm a happy owner of Creative Zen 4 GB. It's simple in use, small and the battery life is long.
