Hey,

I'm looking for untranslated innocent romance mangas. As for what I deem as "innocent", it's a bit hard to describe. In a broad sense it would be not just the lack of sexual content, but also the lack of malign intentions from the main characters, meaning they would both basically be goody-two-shoes and just follow their honest feelings of love. I think Kazama Ayami's mangas make a good example, her characters are always very innocent.

As this is a very specific request already and it's for untranslated manga too, I don't think it makes sense to specify even more, so I just list my NONOs: no homosexual couples, no hentai/smut, no ecchi (light ecchi is okay I guess), no harem, no big age gaps, no bishies (this is more about the art than anything else, I just don't want the guys to be drawn in shoujo art), no top-bottom romance (popular x loser)

Okay, this turned out to be more than I thought lol. Anyway, it would be nice if someone could help me. Thanks ^__^

PS: I'm also looking for an active Japanese manga community where I can ask for recommendations (preferably not on 2ch or anything like that). If you know one, please share!

edit: For reference, some interesting mangas I was able to find that might fit the above criteria (might, cause I've only read previews):

Tsuru Tsuru to Zara Zara no Aida
Esu to Efu
Love 120!
Lucky Boy
Ai Kagi

Do you only want untranslated manga or both untranslated and translated ones?

Futari no Renai Shoka might fit, but it has a bit of an age gap going on. I would still totally recommend it.

Otogi no Ori - I'm not 100% sure, but my gut is telling me it might fit. RAWs are available for the whole series on the net.

Futari no Renai Shoka is long overdue for translation i guess. As far as i remember it it's actually really innocent.
Edit: Too slow, damn it!

Boku no Oku-san should fit, but there are no RAWs for the series (I have a physical copy that I ordered on a whim).

Some early stuff by KAWAHARA Kazune maybe?
I recently edited a oneshot from Tensei and I must say that I've never read anything as cloyingly sweet and innocent as that. Though it could be because I generally don't read romantic high-school shoujo.

Maybe Amaama to Inazuma could work, but it's a student x teacher one, so there is an age gap...

Edit: Maybe 20 Senchi

Untranslated would be better, since I'm pretty sure I know all recentish manga who would fit and have been scanlated. Maybe old ones, I guess?

About Futari no Renai Shoka, I knew about this one, but I've been reluctant to try it for some reason. Are there raws available?

Otogi no Ori, what is the series about? I looked at the first chapter and the male lead looks more like he's out of an action manga XD

Thanks, this looks good. You wouldn't happen to be willing to scan it, would you? Otherwise, can you give me a synopsis? I might buy it then.

The art is kinda putting me off, but the plot sounds sweet. I'll give it a try, thanks ^^

Hmm, about 20 Senchi, the name sounds so familiar lol
Is there a proper ending? It seems to have been discontinued.

Thank you for the suggestions, everyone! smile

One chapter from the second volume is missing, but maybe something can be done about that wink

He is either chuunibyou or schizophrenic. There isn't any action and it mostly revolves around him and his plumpy female friend. I haven't actually read it (I think there was no furigana).

It's about a young nobleman whose parents arrange a marriage for him. However he knows nothing about his future bride and only saw a painting of her which was made when she was an infant. When he comes to meet her he finds out that she disappeared when she was young and was raised by wolves. It's awfully cute. I can't write a more detailed synopsis since there is no furigana in the manga and it's a bit too hard to read for me as such.

I know as much as you do, it appears to be discontinued. There are raws for the one volume that was released so you can check it out anyway.

@Jahu

Okay, thank you! Gonna order Boku no Oku-san, it sounds like what I'm looking for biggrin

And about Otogi no Ori, hmm... chuunibyou sounds interesting, haha.

I just got my copy of Ubu Ubu Fuufu yesterday and I think it might work for your request. It's not entirely innocent, since it revolves around love life of a certain couple (well its more about their daily life with extra emphasis on love life with which they are having some issues). Even though they are married and have a kid, they are still very shy and innocent. Although the manga is somewhat mature (nothing explicit is shown), it might still be worth a shot...

I just came across Ama Ama, which looks like it might fit, but I can't say for sure as there are next to no RAWs for the series.

I'll probably order the tanks and see for myself smile

Other manga from SHIMA Tokio might be worth a shot too (and there are actually RAWs for them on the net).

It looks like Ama Ama might be more mature than I expected it to be, but other manga by SHIMA Tokio. Anyway, I didn't review this thread to write that, but to share my latest findings:

Kami Yome
Sui Youbi
and probably also Higashi no Kurume to Tonari no Meguru
