So I was just thinking, how and why am I so attracted to yaoi, shounen ai, or anything BL related? Have I always been like this without knowing it?
And then it came to me, YES I WAS! Lol!
I remember always liking gender-bender stories, especially when the girl dresses up as a guy and goes to a all boys school or something, like Hana Kimi, and I got the most disappointed when the guy found out that this is actually a girl. So that might show that I always liked guy x guy stories in a way. I liked it when guys dress up as girls too, mainly because the guys are soooo cute :3
So yeah, I thought that was what actually flickered my love for BL. There might've been more that I've never thought about this way. But oh well, I'll add it if something else comes to me. laugh

What's your story? biggrin

Gimmick that cute shounen ai was the first, now im totally in the finest depth of the yaoi hell, having read all the 'good' parts, the scat play, furry bara, gang bangs, mind breaking, rape, et cetera. and well im damn proud of it

I was looking for Dragonball Z fanfiction one day and kept seeing a word that I had never seen before..... YAOI. The story that I first read was a GotenXTrunks pairing and I thought that it was just a friend story. WOWZA was I wrong!!!!! After reading that story I craved to read more, however I continued to only look for FF since I wasn't aware that yaoi was an actual "thing" in the manga/anime universe. One day I was looking for fanmade yaoi avi's and ran across "Top 10 best yaoi ANIME"..... I was like NO WAY!!!! Then I started watching the anime and when I was done I found the manga and the rest is history.

My friend lent me "Okane ga nai" vol.1 then I started addict to shounen ai>yaoi.
My fav yaoi mangaka are SUGIURA Shiho, Sanami Matoh and Naono Bohra. They are the best!

.......

PS sex scenes in yaoi can move me more than shoujo manga... anyone feels same?

Is there even any sex scenes in shoujo manga? All I see is boobs at max! They don't show ANYTHING. And I'm just like uhhh....am I supposed to be moved by this....
Sweet-talking basically sums up the sex scenes in shoujo/josei. And they finish up in like 2 pages. =.=
That's my perspective. Maybe it's cause I haven't read enough straight romance manga? But they're nothing close to my yaoi.

For me, it was Genshiken. I connected really well with Ogiue, and soon wondered if I would like yaoi too like she does. I tried it out, and apparently I do.

It all started with a ZackxCloud fanfic recommended by a friend...this one to be exact Then I lurked around BL fanfics for a while (mostly FF7 stuff) then I dived into BL manga after Junjou Romantica

hikaru no go. i was looking at djs (even though I didn't know what "yaoi" or "shounen-ai" or dj tags mean).. I just wanted to see more Hikaru and Sai moments.. I was super sad at the anime and manga ending. then found snapshots of "close the last door" and "our kingdom" in music videos and started to like BL.

It's interesting how a lot of you guys started off with fanfics. Surprisingly I've never went that way until I ran out of actual yaoi manga laugh

I actually started by watching anime. What really made me turn to bl was Ciel and Sebastian from Black Butler. I then progressed to watching Junjou and then started reading the manga.

I started out watching anime too! I must have been one of the most bore person on Earth, cause I randomly clicked on Junjou Romantica and started to watch it. laugh
After that I was really interested in this new genre I've found and decided to find others like it. My first yaoi manga was also Junjou. biggrin

I started reading yuri out of curiosity, before then I read only het romances and they were all meh. When I began reading yuri I was just starting my teenage years and it really helped me when things felt difficult. I didn't understand myself or want to accept myself so yuri was something that let me ignore all of that until I realized why it was I liked it so much. It was an entire genre that created happy fantasies for girls like me. To think people make and support yuri makes me self-insert as if I'm accepted by that group too. Yuri is a big part of my life because it changed it, and it gives this scared kid a lot of hope.

firstly I had no idea what was yaoi.
secondly, the website, that I searched for anime for, was in Turkish and in Turkish we don't have he/she/it difference. So it is impossible to differentiate the gender in 3rd person writing.

so I see an anime called sensitive pornograph. the description seemed nice. I had no idea it was two men.

after watching it, I liked how the taboos were displayed. in shoujo everything was just so fluffy. a kiss that takes 10 volumes.. come on..

so I tried to find some more yaoi with weird fetishes and weird characters.

Haha)))
I used to hate the idea of BL before, I only read shoujo))
Then I noticed that female protagonists annoy me, and switched to shoujo with male protagonists)) But female characters still annoyed me)))
And then it came to me that I should try yaoi - and I got hooked)))

no stupid girls (somehow I'm ok with stupid boys lol) and more hot scenes eyes
