[m]Namaikizakari[/m] So far, it's a typical high school romance between the female manager of the basketball team and a younger member of said team. The female lead is a pretty, repressed ice queen and seems to be heading into tsundere territory. The male lead is an equally cold popular pretty boy. The story's been pretty standard so far (girl crushes on guy, guy gets a girlfriend, girl is crushed, 2nd guy falls in love with girl, etc) and will likely continue as expected.

Not sure why the manga isn't linking...

You need to write the name exactly as it is spelled on the Series page or in 'Associated Names.' You were missing the '.' at the end, but I have added it to the list of 'Associated Names' now.

Ojojojo - Seinen
This small 4-koma is more for comedy reasons. Another weird male lead along the lines of seki-kun or yugami-kun, and a rich female who thinks the others are all commoners, not able to speak her mind and acting all high and mighty. I'd say it's pretty cute, you have to be comfortable with the 4-koma style though. Romance is there but for now it is mainly used to get a good laugh from the readers.

Gonensei by KIO Shimoku - Seinen
Sequel to Yonensei - which I strongly advise you to read beforehand. Those who're familiar with the precedessor know what to expect: a deeply realistic character sketch. A mismatched couple struggle with their life as they come to terms with society, their relationship and each others flaws and strengths as well as their own. You won't find any sugar-coating here, but if you're into slice of real life, this is what you're looking for. KIO-sensei's art is like usual, a bit sketchy but definitely a Seinen style.

Young, Alive, in Love by NISHIJIMA Daisuke - Seinen
After reading the first three chapters I still don't have any clue what is going on. The only thing I can say for sure is that it's odd - both in terms of characters and the possible plot. It might even rival DOUMAN Seiman's outpourings. For now I'm curious enough to keep track of the next few chapters.
Very distinct art style that reminds me of those cartoon strips you can find in the newspaper. Sketchy with lots of white space and contrasting accent colours.

Red String (Dong Bi) - none (webtoon)
A hilarious premise and a confession withing the first chapter is always a good thing. Characters and art are fine. This is from the same author as Looking for a Father so if you liked that, here's another nice example with a more supernatural premise. As for the plot let's just say he confesses, pulls a red string tied around her neck and takes her home. There will be a lot of decent comedy potential with the same sort of humor as with his other work, the only downside is the lack of chapters for now...

Love x Rob x Stockholm - Shounen
This is a pretty cute little series that will probably fry your brain if you dare to think about the plot. Not because it is overly complicated (or at all for that matter). To be honest the premise and what happens is random and more often then not pretty dumb. If you like violent tsunderes, a male lead who is just way too unlucky for this world and a lot of comedy by all means try this. Just don't take it seriously.

Ooh, this is a great thread! I'm excited to see more recommendations~
Shiny Doll is a story about a girl changing due to a boy. Honestly, it's very cliche, but the art's nice and there were a few parts that were funny. Very generic, but with a slight twist, where he's helping her become a model. If you love shoujo, I guess you can add this onto your list.

Hatsukiai is a sugary sweet shoujo featuring a series of short, mostly unrelated romances that range from student couples to working age couples. They're all incredibly fluffy with blushing, dithering, and shy kissing galore. It's wonderful. The art is fairly cutesy and complements the stories quite well. It's similar in style and tone to Wakabayashi Toshiya's 4-koma Collection (but it's not a 4 koma), so if you read and enjoyed that, I'd highly recommend checking this one out. biggrin

Kokoro Kimiiro Sakura Iro has just started with 2 chapters out, and so far it's a fluffy, light hearted high school shoujo with an exuberant, extremely straightforward male lead and shy female lead.(Too many adjectives for ya? It's slightly disturbing how easy it is to describe the standard shoujo premise) The first chapter seems promising with likable characters and an easygoing (ha!) tone, but the 2nd is where the cute hits the fan. I'll just say that it focuses on the little kids of the families and is absolutely adorable. Artwork is cute and well done, as expected of the author of Kurenai Ouji eyes

Hayachine! - Shounen
Another cute slice of life manga with a girly male lead, and a hyperactive female who is a bit weird and knowledgeable in history and stuff. The characters may be nothing new, but they all work really well together, I especially like the small sister, but so far everyone is just adorable. It's also pretty funny at times without putting on too much. This manga is around for quite some time already but was picked up again it seems.

Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san - Shounen
A cute slice-of-life series centering around a boy who always gets made sport of by his classmate, neighbor and love interest who all coincide, even though he doesn't know the last part yet...
From what I've seen so far, the comedy part is pretty enjoyable even if somehow predictable at times and the characters are pretty cute, especially the girl and how he reacts to her. If you can spare a few minutes of your precious life, give this series a try.

Status Update
As some of you may have already seen, Hajiotsu. has been officially dropped by Maigo.
The translator had other things to do and lost interest due to that.

If I come across more info regarding the subject I'll update this post, especially if someone picks it up again or another series changes its status.

Nanoka no Kare - Shoujo
from the artist of Akuma to Love Song, is a new series where a girl confesses to a stranger out of the blue! It seems pretty cute and realistic, and the growing love between them is really cute.

There's three chapters out so far, and it seems to have a lot of potential. It's refreshing to see a couple from the start of a manga and how their relationship develops, so try this out if you want something new.

Status Update

Coulomb Fille just ended. For those who missed or skipped the last pages, the author plans to self-publish a sequel. Like for Blood Alone (where the author said they will publish the remaining chapters themself after being axed) whether a group will pick this up or how long it will take is unknown.
All we can do is wait.

On a personal note: I'll soon be able to revisit the releases this past month, so I hope for some more additions instead of just status updates in the near future.

September Issue (1 of 2)

Well, not really, but here are the 10 things that looked promising. A whole bunch of releases where from manga box, line webtoon and chibi manga and I tend to avoid those, so I won't add anything in that regard. The huge amount of releases of different manga from chibi can be worth a look though, at least for people who tend to like their type of releases.
I'll separate this into two posts with 5 titles each, because I'm still checking things out.
edit: one series was already reviewed, so the number of titles changes from 5 to 4 for the second part.

World Customize Creator - Shounen
To be honest, I don't really get how this got in here. The romance is not really existing at this point, it's more like "love interest for the sake of it". Interestingly enough this came out a few months ago already (namely 2). While the pacing may be weird and the plot seems kind of random, the redeeming points are the art style (think Rain but more detailed and more pencil-like) and the protagonist who has for once a good head on his shoulders with a very interesting power (he didn't use enough so far imo). If you like a good protagonist thrown into an RPG fantasy world with a very strong, versatile and unique power you may give this a go, just don't expect too much. Above average, but only slightly...
For romance look elsewhere.

Hime-sama Tanuki no Koizanyou - Seinen
This will come down to personal taste due to the oblivious childhood friend and the arranged marriage stuff. We have a childhood friend he likes, and the arranged marriage interest (or not interested as of chapter 3). For now he is seriously against all the stuff that happens to him and that he has to do, but I fear this will get bad very fast when he starts to accept it. Chapters are short so nothing of note happened yet, but the comedy (especially the parents, the best characters so far) is pretty good. Art is decent and people will probably like both girls' styles. I hope it stays away from getting too intense on ecchi stuff (it is handled fairly well, no annoying panty shots and no "pointless" nudity, i.e. with some sort of reason behind it). I would recommend it in its current state, but be aware that this path is loaded with holes so the enjoyable ride can come to an abrupt end and turn into a (shipping) nightmare.

Tonari no Megane-kun - Shoujo
This has been around for quite some time, more that 7 years, but recently new chapters started to come out. This is pretty much how a (only in name) sibling romance should be. Seriously. Nice art, very likable characters, a bit of sadness around, funny moments and no unneeded drama. each chapter could almost exist alone, as the key points are explained properly every time, without feeling repetitive. Often one is thrown into flashbacks that explain a bit more than one would already know. The new releases are pretty nice, especially the focus on the little brother (who is just precious). If you are looking for a hidden gem in the form of a romance shoujo, look no further.

Haru x Kiyo - Shoujo
Now it gets difficult. This manga seems to be a bit confusing because stuff just happens without any real direction. It doesn't hurt the series in any way though and feel kind of natural. both MC's are veeeery weird and have some problems with their first love. Art is nice, comedy is solid and the romance doesn't seem to be as forced as it is usually the case (in fact she sees him as a small child due to her huge size). I don't know if this is a running gag but so far: The first chapter contained one panel with one of her eyes (1), the second one panel with both of her eyes (2) and the third, three panels with one of her eyes each (3). The rest of the time her face is hidden behind her hair. If you can deal with that give it a try, it is decent so far and I can easily imagine this to become very sweet. It was continued 2 months ago after a long pause and seems to get more releases now.

Sekai no Hashikko to Anzu Jam - Shoujo
One chapter for now, so not much to comment on. She seems like a decent girl and he likes to fool around. The plot can go anywhere now, because it is only a one-week-favor compensation. Funny at times but nothing that really stands out. The art is typical but decent and focuses more on emphasizing the comedy bits instead of the scenery or things like that. In a nutshell: nothing special but on the better side of the generic stuff without being too generic at the same time.
