Warn: Banned

Since CrunchyRoll picked it up, others groups abandoned it or something, since it says that there are 4 volumes released on the series page?

It takes time you know, not everyone can keep series up to date and you should ask the group itself not the ones that keep the information about the releases.

CrunchyRoll isn't the avarage scanlator group or anything, if i'm right they work together with the companies that releases the stuff we read/watch,

For this matter Ajin, wouldn't suprise me if they bought license to scanlate it and sent mails to the scanlator groups who are working on it, and told em that. Thank you for scanlating this manga but now we will take over. if you don't bla bla bla we will send our lawyers on yah ass

We'd have heard of it if it happened. Plus, putting a lawsuit for something like this cost a lot of money, time the number of manga, time the number of scanlators. This isn't money that a company like Crunchyroll would have imo.

aside from scanlators doing it solely for the profit and keeping their hands on popular manga no matter what, I don't think anyone would really say no if an editor came asking politely to stop because of concurrence against the official publications.

of course, this is only my opinion.

I'm curious, why other scanlation groups are not wiping their asses with the said mails?

Well.. as i said it woudn't suprise me if they worked something together with the creators(publishers), due that they have investors as TV Tokyo and Anipleax, who does alot of anime/manga releases on their stations. I have a hard time to belive that they would do something that would jeopardize their value.

they are not a normal scanlator group. Crunchyroll would be more like a company that pay all their employees fee's for translation & maybe some of the money goes to the creators (who knows).

I'm unsure if i can link their website but this would be Partners and investors that work with crunchyroll

http://www.crunchyroll.com/about found on their page

I've been reading the Chinese scanlations until there was a page that didn't load properly (around Chapter 34) so I looked up the Crunchyroll scanlations too and began reading both side by side.

Most translations stayed consistent; I only have an issue with Chapter 35.5 where Nagai says, "My heart stopped. I started to sweat..." and the Chinese scanlations go roughly like, "My heartbeat calmed down and I stopped sweating". Based on the context, the latter seems to be accurate.

Right now, Crunchyroll is one chapter ahead. I do enjoy the art and the story so I'll continue reading both versions.

Crunchy isn´t a form of scanlation group but an official licensee. A bit like Netflix with the exception that they don´t (fully) produce their own content. Yet. A given reason why admins accepted them as a group is to promote official publications. Another one should be because their chapters get ripped within the day. A certain scanaltion group even recently tried to pass off CR´s work as their own. We have more such services listed as groups and they can only increase.

Official translations (rare re-writes are excluded) usually have more faithful translation that one´s done by scanlators in 95% of cases. There tends to be an approval process for such after all. At least at first, to establish a tone, and none of you wouldn´t like it either if someone bought a license to distribute your writing in another langue to then misrepresent it. EG´s scanlation for Berserk for example is way less faithful than the translations done by Dark Horse and the official German ones are even better still. Comparing can be fun in a way for us multilingual individuals.

Piracy is also immortal so don´t worry about the state of the scanlation or ripping scene.
(Asking about the state of a "real" scanlation is also against da rules.)
