Hello and here is my thought on the matter that some translator groups have listed some translations which does not link you to a page because it doesnt exist.

So here my thought:

1. Group of Translator > Translates <x> ;;
2. Translator Group adds it on their profile
2. If <x> does not exist already on mangaupdates

3 Translator group gets to new page which asks them to fill in the data which normally other people would fill in.
^ With this the "professionals" would fill in the data and less errors happen

<OR>

3. Blank page is automatically created with name, so people can edit information in. < With that at least there is a page with some information
-------

Anyone feeling ready to discuss or talk with me about this?

There's no point in doing this though because they can't hotlink to their website, only to Social Media sites like Twitter, Facebook, and IRC
If you know the groups name just try to google it instead.

(Plus the groups/scanlators setup/layout page is fine as it is at least how I see it.)

It is NOT about linking to their homepage.
It is about pages of information which are not entered on mangaupdates.
Therefore the page does not exist, and no link goes to any informaton about the translated piece.

Oh okay sorry that's what I thought you originally meant, did you mean a page where you can view more information about the group overall? If so I think the could just add it to the original pages to where it will open another page or they can add a spoiler like drop button that can display it, that way they can say space rather than creating a whole new section.

But did you mean like about me, frequent status updating and plans and etc.. like that?
I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what you mean but I think this is probably similar to what you were referring to right>?

I think I see what you are suggesting. You want to reduce the number of releases with no linked series info page by prompting the user who submits the release to create and fill out a page, right?

I think the idea has some merits, but is not worth the trouble to program, for 3 reasons:

Releases can be submitted by anyone, so the person adding the release might not even have any information about the series. (Scanlator groups don't actually add any series on their profile themselves; the lists of series they scanlate are auto-generated based on the releases in each group's name, which again, can be submitted by anyone.)

Also, submitted releases can be wrong. If prompted, users are more likely to make a series info page for a release, including the wrong ones. That doubles the work for staff to fix or reject both the wrong release submission and the accompanying wrong series info page submission. This is not as straightforward as it sounds, because often, different staff members work with release submissions vs. series submissions.

Last, users are already pretty good about adding the info pages themselves. The fraction of series with releases but without info pages is already pretty low, and most of those are either oneshots or doujinshi.
