This week's poll wasn't asked by a specific person, but rather it was prompted as I read a suggestion by our member psycho-shocker, which was sort of related to the actual poll. Do you own physical manga? Like volumes (tanks) or even magazines? And if so, how much? Ya, I generalized the options, but hey, it's a simple poll!

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related)
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: When did you start visiting MangaUpdates?
Choices:
2004 (been a decade since the beginning) - votes: 1123 (9.8%)
2005 (9 years, wow) - votes: 509 (4.5%)
2006 (lucky 8 years) - votes: 791 (6.9%)
2007 (7 years and counting) - votes: 1111 (9.7%)
2008 (6 years ago) - votes: 1200 (10.5%)
2009 (half a decade) - votes: 1444 (12.6%)
2010 (4 years now) - votes: 1371 (12%)
2011 (last 3 years) - votes: 1191 (10.4%)
2012 (for 2 years) - votes: 1078 (9.4%)
2013 (just a year) - votes: 977 (8.6%)
2014 (within the last few months) - votes: 624 (5.5%)
There were 11419 total votes.
The poll ended: June 7th 2014

I kind of wish I had put a 2003 option just to see how many people would choose that option. FYI, MU was started July 20, 2004

I'm proud to say that I'm one of those who always try to buy physical manga volumes when I can (ie if I have the money) to try to support mangakas. After all, it's because of sales that my favourite mangakas can continue producing what I love. And even in cases when I can buy the digital version, it'll always feel better to hold the books in my hands than storing them in my computer (though but for the shipping fee I would've been able to buy a lot more mangas)

I have around 200 volumes give or take.

I've cut down a lot of though. A few of the series I collect are actually finished and I'm just waiting on the final volumes. I like to support when I can. It's nice to read manga physically holding a book.

Bought just a few here and there, the ones I really like aren't available in my country. Even if they were, I'll be fluent enough soon to just import them. No need to support the crazy prices in my country.

I have around 130 volumes. Used to collect them a long time ago but haven't bought any lately as most of my cash goes to other things.

I'd say I'm a collector, but that doesn't mean I have a lot. I'm just picky about what I collect.
Then again an entire bookcase is probably a lot.

I used to collect a lot myself but now it's slowly become more of a trajectory towards owning manga in different languages. So far I have: English, French, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, German, Czech, Dutch, Italian and Hungarian.

Voted for just a few here and there I'm not a serious collector because getting some manga is pretty expensive but I got about 70 vols with a huge discount at a bookmarket. Or when there is manga in book version but the fan scans have not caught up I'll sometimes buy some.

Though never the manga's that get translated in my language they are big series like OP, Naruto and some other but after looking at 1 vol of Naruto I decided to never buy Dutch translated manga. It is somewhat cheaper than buying English vols but those are really long series.

I used to buy my manga when I was small so I got like 2 big box worth.. But not one of them are a complete set (excluding one shots) ;-; it's always missing volumes here and there.
Now that I think about it, I've been buying much less these days

My cheap fiber board bookcase strains under the weight of all my manga.

Isn't this a repeat?

Anyway, not manga, but books advertising/recommending manga and/or anime....

"Maybe not hardcore, but I have a lot " I guess... I have all the volumes published in English for:

Ai Yori Aoshi
Inuyasha
Ranma ½
Claymore
Mahou Sensei Negima!
GTO
Ah! My Goddess
Kare Kano

Plus a few randoms like the full color omnibuses for High school of the dead, the two volume collection of Girl Friends, the first book of Urusei Yatsura and some odd books of Maison Ikkoku

I tend to buy in bulk, so when I get something, it'll be like 20+ volumes in a burst.

Quote from tactics
I like to support when I can. It's nice to read manga physically holding a book.

Also ^^
