Well in away the same as "Best Albums of ALL TIME" thread, only now for songs. I like you'all to post the 5 most beautiful songs you've ever heard, and convince/explain (to) us why they are the best...

Example:
For me it would be like this.

1. Tupac - Brenda's Got A Baby -> This one touched me deep it really explains the hardships that some people must go through, and certainly at such a young age. To make a long story short is gives a good view of the problems in society. Has a great lyrics. Tupac was one of the best musicians that ever walked on this earth he was a great poet, songwriter and activist.
2. Tupac Ft. Elton John - Ghetto Gospel -> Great song, also explains the problems in modern society, it's very realistic, has a great lyrics and a good rythem/bass.
3. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge -> Seriously one of the best, really gives a good view of the life of a junkie (in this case a junkie in Los Angeles). In the song singer Anthony Kiedis sings/tells about the drugsproblem of his fellow bad member John Frusciante.
4. Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You -> What can I say about this? Not much only that it's one of the best songs of one of the greatest musicians I know. Really she has one of the most "beatiful" voices I've ever heard. Great touching lyrics.
5. Michael Jackson - Man In The Mirror -> The most famous musician in the world. He's really a prodigy, the nickname: the king of pop serves him well.
Many great hits on his names and he also holds the record of Best sold album of all time (Thriller). For me this is his best song taken directly from the hit album "Bad". Has a good rythem and a nice feeling to it. The lyrics doesn't really touch me, but I can see why he doesn't want to look in his mirror laugh .

Beethoven's 7th symphony- Idk why but that symphony always cheers me up after listening to it, I love it so much.

Billie Jean- Like you said, Michael Jackson is the king of pop and is awesome, Billie Jean is just a very chilling and interesting song and I think it goes into MJ's psyche pretty well (plus his first ever moonwalk was to this song so that also makes it awesome).

Good Riddance (Time of Our Lives)- Green Day has a special place in my heart, especially since it's one of the first ever good bands I bought an album of. Plus I played the violin part of this song (kinda badly) with my friend who was doing it for a talent show.

Bye bye bye- no matter how sucky NSYNC and boy bands are, this is the music of my childhood! Brings back memories of fond years as a little kid, and shallow enough to enjoy that kind of music.

Come Together- I love the beatles and Come Together honestly is just a tripping song.

Er...

No matter how cliched
4th Movement of Beethoven's 9th aka Ode to Joy- I like the entire 9th symphony but when i hear the singing and chorus part of Ode to Joy it just fills my heart with pleasure (ugh note to self, never sound so whimsical ever again).

Davorak (sorry about the spelling) "The Hymn to the Moon" from Rusalka. Breathtaking, even if you don't know a word of the language. If the song is beautiful, the meaning of the words is irrelevant.

I'd have to agree. Though I thought Anthony was describing his own heroine addiction, not John's? I like this acoustic version of it better than the studio recording though. Very emotional, personal, and powerful song

Other beautiful songs:
Bittersweet symphony by The Verve: Beautiful lyrics accompanied by an orchestra. Kind of an ironic name for it also due to the lawsuits that are brought up when this song is mentioned. I interpreted it as living on the road of life and all the **** and good things that come along with it.

Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls: Despite the cheesy films associated with it, I found the chorus to be very moving. I interpreted the lyrics as someone finding someone else who truly understands him/her (reminds me of Kitano from Angel Densetsu.)

Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World: Very deep lyrics, if I'm not mistaken, about being grateful to those who helped you out through tough times.

Can't Stop by the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Just really fun to listen to. Lyrically, I have no frickin clue what it means. Maybe not suppose to mean anything since Anthony seems to improvise the lyrics during live performances and also the music video was extrememly random.

One of the most beautiful songs ever, I believe, is Aerith's Theme from Final Fantasy VII.

Although I enjoy the original version, the Piano Version found on the Advent Children soundtrack is perhaps my favorite piano composition.

It's simple, yet elegant, and it serves her character well, as her theme.

It may sound odd picking a song from a video game, but if you've never heard this song, you're missing out.
