Actually something like Ao Haru Ride where the supporting cast also has a lot to say and multiple pairings are present.

Few I've already read
Strobe Edge
Love Complex
Fruits Basket
Usotsuki Lily
His and Her Circumstances
Reaching You
High School Debut
Rockin' Heaven

But I'll appreciate something more serious rather than your typical mindless romcom

You might have read them but Nana and Paradise Kiss, both by Yazawa Ai, have important relanshionships among the side characters.

The two I would most recommend for thought-provoking stories are Hachimitsu to Clover and Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun. They both have multiple pairings & the side characters have well-developed personalities.

Special A is a funny fluffy shoujo based on a group of friends.

Bokura no Kiseki fits pretty well, it has a LOT of characters and there are multiple pairings, and it is definitely not a romcom, its story is pretty serious.
