LIke what im trying to say is like have you heard of a japanese artist that you never heard before that has never been mention?~
you know like the song from naruto- Michi-To you all-? by ..i forgot the name, but yea..that singer was kinda of rare..=D~
for anime endings/openings/often the people from the anime choose singers that are like new~and then thats the way people will hear of them until the anime will present a new song, then they will never be heard again

But then again you can become obsesed like me and like a song so much that yu will search for all the songs of that same artist and put it in your mp3 player or ipod-
well thats what happened to me when i heard Abingdon Boys School for the first time in D.Gray Man-yea..i instantly became facinated by them and now have all their songs~!! LOVE YOU ABS!!!><
[[sorry..]]
dead dead dead

Yay! Me too with abingdon, they're just awesome. Speaking of which, with the whole D.Gray-man theme, I love NIRGILIS but can't find much by them, only their Eureka op and D.Gray-man ed, which sucks. I hate how hard it is to find non-mainstream J-music...and the worst part, for me, is that I didn't get into it until AFTER my cousin came back from teaching in Japan for a year. Arrrrrrg!!!

I guess I'm the only ABS hater then? laugh Well nevermind, it's probably just me bigrazz.
Bands (no singers, sorry bigrazz) that get faar too little recognition:
Headphones President
Suicide Ali (<3)
Exist+trace
Coaltar of the deepers
NoGod
Probably Serial Number too but they're pretty well-known
..and I forgot something really important. Gah, another lapsus~mad
And as for singers, I liked the girl that sings the op for Blood+ (I have no idea who is she) laugh

I really don't care much for most Japanese music but I loved two songs from Hitomi Yaida (Over The Distance and Go My Way). I've been on the verge of buying her "best of" CD because I can't find the MP3s.

I'd say, exist†trace and Danger gang. Both all-female visual kei bands. ^^,

abingdon boys school isn't that unknown. The reason they were never mentioned before their DGM opening is because... that was their first single. They've released only four singles and one album so far, but they're hardly unknown in Japan, and I wouldn't say they're not really listened to (although not as popular as, say, EXILE).

Seconded the NIRGILIS thing, though. Love them. <3 Always sad to see their music selling so little.

HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR, misono and Younha also don't get a huge amount of recognition. Even worse are Aira Mitsuki (although she's a relatively new artist) and Nobuchika Eri (who hasn't released anything in years).

Actually, except for NIRGILIS, I didn't listen to any of these artists because of their anime themes (the ones who did them). In fact, I've never watched anything with their music in it. Hm. :x
