Hi,

Is it possible to implement filters for the manga listings (such as under Series Info - All) so we can remove certain genres from showing up (e.g. hentai, yaoi, yuri, shounen ai)?

I know it's possible to search for specific genres, but I mean to hide these titles while we're browsing the list.

Yeah, that would be useful for when you are searching for a specific title knowing which keywords to search for.

If you are searching for series using categories (which works just as well) you can eliminate those genres by checking the boxes under "Exclude genre from search".

No, I wasn't referring to search, though that might be improved too.

I meant to exclude genres from showing up on the listings (e.g. front page, under Series Info, etc.)

I am lost ... Okay do you mean

A) The Releases page?
- If so you can go the User CP select Release Filtering and either exclude genres from ever showing up on that page. Or just color code the genres you do like.

B) Conducting a search on the Advanced Search by Genre page.
- If so .... you see how there's two checks boxes next to a genres name? Check the red one and it'll exclude that genre from the search.
(You can also exclude tags by putting a - in front the tag's name)

C) You're conducting a search but you know there's a manga you don't want to read, and you don't want that title to pop up in your search?
- Ummm you can create a custom list name it "Not interested in at all" (or something) mark that list as unfinished. Then this way when you do your search a blue dot pops up next to the title, and you'll just skip over it.
- Or you can select Only show manga not on any of my lists under List Options in the Advanced Search by Genre page. This way none of the manga on any of your lists pop up in your search.

If you're not talking about those .... would you rephrase what you mean? confused

Oh I see what you mean. I must have been blind last night because for the life of me I couldn't find "Series Info" lol. But to eliminate those genres just go to the very bottom where it says "Search by Genre" and check off the genres you don't want to see under the excluded column, the list will then show everything besides those.

I may still be confused, so if you mean something else, my apologies. :3 Hope someone else can help~

Thank you all for the replies, I wasn't aware of release filtering, learned something new!

However, I don't mean the releases page. Let me clarify shy

On the right side of the page, there's a link named "Series Info." On that page, you can view all the titles on mangaupdates by clicking the "All" at the top, next to the letter "A" (to show all titles starting with "A"). You can also then sort all the titles by Rating.

I use this method frequently for spotting highly rated manga that I might have missed, but there are genres that I am not interested in. However, since I am not really "searching," I can't filter these genres out - hence, my request smile wink grin

... So in other words you want to do what you already can in the Advance search by genre page. (here you can exclude genres).
Be able to search by the letter like in the Series info page. (which you could do the same thing if you made a search).
And sort by ratings. (which you can also do if you do a search...)

...... Everything you can do already in a different page, but on the Series info page. Correct?
... You know you can just exclude genres in the search page. Pick a letter that the series starts with, and sort by rating without needing to put genres you do like (or filling out the other stuff). (same manga names pop up on both pages.)

Ah, thank you, wasn't aware you could search without any input in the box. I originally made the thread because I wasn't "searching," persay, but merely browsing through titles (some genres of which I'm not interested in).
