I have been a fan of Liar Game and have just re-read One Outs so I would like to know if there are other mangas out there similar to these two?

The theme is of no consequence, but I ask that the protagonist possesses an uncanny brilliance at manipulating others (but not in a villainous role) and uses psychology to exploit the weakness in human mentality for his goal. There need not be character development either, but just a manga that focus on the tactical and strategic side of the protagonist's actions Something similar to Shokoku no Altair would be fine.

I've checked out the mangas under the Psychological, Gambling, Manipulative Protagonist tags, but the majority are not what I'm looking for. Any suggestions are welcome. biggrin

your lists are not public so i dont know what you have read but here are a few you might like

Bokura no Kiseki -this one is kind of a supernatural/psychological/mystery slice of life, later on you see that the MC is very manipulative though he himself is kind of unaware of it. but beware if you want to read this one, the author has a LOT of characters(some which look pretty similar too), and all of them have important parts to play even if they don't seem to at the time they are introduced.

Chang Ge Xing -this one reminds me of Shoukoku no Altair, the MC is a war strategist, its historical, and the MC travels around a lot and does not stay in one place. though there are some differences, the MC is a girl who pretends to be a boy through most of it to get revenge, its in China not Turkey, and she seems more of a loner and is less trusting then Mahmut.

Rakuin no Monshou (Novel) -this last one is a novel and i don't know if you read light novels but this one is very good. there is strategy and manipulation galore in this one. the MC is a sword slave that looks like the prince so he gets put to be his double, but while he is his double he starts using his title as prince to manipulate his way into getting his revenge on one of the commanders that is under him. it is a very well written novel and the way the author portrays the MC as mature for his age but still acts naive sometimes is amazing, so try it out if you haven't read it.

Thanks for these recommendations! I have not read any of them, so I'll try these. It's a shame that Rakuin no Monshou only has translations up to volume 3.

if you want something completed, though it is another novel, you could try Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria (Novel). is probably not exactly what your looking for but it is a pretty mind blowing story(especially the first volume).

and maybe Bloody Monday, its not that he is manipulative though, more like he is just so smart with computers he can beat anyone with them. i really don't know why this one got such a low rating because i thought it was quite good, yeah it was unrealistic but what manga isn't? confused

I've actually been thinking about reading Bloody Monday recently. Any other good genius/manipulative protagonist mangas that you'd like to recommend? There are a lot of genius mangas though I'm not sure which ones are really good.
