This week's poll was suggested by deadphoenix. Estimate how big of a manga fan you are based on the number of series you've read or are currently reading. Up to you if you wanna include oneshots or doujinshi with that number.

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related)
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: How often do you watch AMVs?
Choices:
I'd say pretty often - votes: 1012 (9.1%)
Just occasionally - votes: 1925 (17.4%)
Barely ever - votes: 2403 (21.7%)
Used to watch some, but not anymore - votes: 2675 (24.1%)
Never watched any - votes: 1088 (9.8%)
What are AMVs? - votes: 1975 (17.8%)
There were 11078 total votes.
The poll ended: August 16th 2014

Go watch AMV Hell. And for those of you who hadn't a clue what an AMV was, go Google it.

I hope I'm an Intermediate professional need to count to make sure. I'll edit this as soon as I can get on my laptop and finish counting. Crossing my fingers until then >.<

EDIT -
From my last post in Your List Stats it only went from 906 to 969. T^T I'm such a failure. *sigh*
Now counting my reading ... that was a bit hard seeing as most in my Secondary and Tertiary Reading List I haven't even touched yet ...
My reading number is 112. Add another 70 for a list I don't have on this site. >.>
I am including my oneshots, and DJ otherwise it would go down about 170 ... Leave me alone I'm counting them bigrazz

Sweet 1151 I made it to Intermediate professional (1k-1.5k) I'm so happy. biggrin

EDIT 2 -
Ha, I found my old post from the last time we had a similar thread. I would like to say that back then I did think I had read at least one thousand mangas, but when I counted it was below 700. (Considering I have a decent memory I was able to find, what I believe to be 90% of what I've read, and mark them)
Probably why I'm happy that I made it to the 1k bracket.
It's a lot different to think you've read a certain amount and to actually have read that amount.
I'm guessing most who are voting for 3k+ think "I've read a S***load of manga, so much I can't even count. I'm going to pick the highest amount on the poll"

Likely within the Professional (so I voted). To say I'm advanced is quite audacious.

I don't have an exact count (list only consists of around 1600--only counted the list for one page of bookmarks and multiplied by number of pages) since I simply use a bookmarker on a server who probably took down a bunch of mangas over the years due to licensing and of course it didn't allow me to track those that aren't scanned; doesn't include doujinshis either. Tried myanimelist and logging on my PC. Became too tedious for me within the first few hours -time better used to read more manga xD

That said, mangas read and completed is another thing though considering the amount of unfinished projects there are on the web.

Anyways, I wonder how many people actually make time to log the exact amount of mangas they read on their PC or something like myanimelist if they vote themselves in the int professional or above range.

Well i missunderstood the slash sign at first, so my remark didnt make any sense .
I have some 500 +, not counting oneshots. But in my unfinished lists there are over 1000 series.

Yeah AMV Hell! Can't wait for the 7th to go public this September biggrin

Haven't been reading as many new series lately but I'm still proud to have read around 800 with only about 5% being oneshots. Still an amateur but whatever. I just need to be able to talk with the rest of the amateurs.

If I consider doujin, pretty sure I'm an intermediate professional. When I find them on MU I add them to my doujin list, but I only have around 200 I've managed to find on here, and I'm pretty damn sure I've probably read over 500, maybe even more. With my reading and completed list (hentai included), I'm around the 700 mark, so merge those together and I'm getting over 1k, roughly speaking.

I couldn't let go to count it. So I started some of 1747 series. Omg, no wonder I start to get troubles finding new good ones. cool I've only completed 438 series, but that is because I focus more on recent series. Most of them running, dropped by group or defunct by the publisher. Well, those numbers are a lot higher in reality, because a large number of the 18+ content is not even registered on MU.

Definitely sensei. I've got well over 3k series according to my list on my computer. Been reading manga for over 10 years so it's not that surprising. Manga and video games are pretty much my main sources of entertainment nowadays so I tend to read a lot.

Do we count the doujinshi ? In that case I am a Sensei. Otherwise I guess I am around Amateur/Advanced Amateur. Spend a lot more time watching anime/playing games than I do on manga.

Haven't bothered to update my list settings here yet, but have a list of folders on my computer containing completed manga and adding it - I've read around 275. So, Intermediate Amateur.

I'm surprised to see those who have read more than 500. I don't read hentai and rarely read one-shots. Probably explains why the numbers are low?

Well, I've been reading manga for about 4 years now... I'm somewhere between the higher end of "Casual reader" and the lower end of "Rookie." It's only that high because I'm including manga that I only read a few chapters of and didn't like, ongoing series that I gave up on (got boring, plot shift, etc.), and oneshots.
I don't really agree with the wording used, though (reading 500-750 series only makes you an amateur?).
Also, I can't imagine how long one has to religiously read manga to be considered a "Professional," much less a "Sensei." Your life would have to revolve around manga. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if you started reading when you were an adolescent, included manga that I included and were middle-aged. laugh
