The male protagonist is vulnerable/naive/innocent/sensitive etc despite appearances. I want a tough or cool looking guy on the exterior. Meaning NO cutesy loli, shota or big sparkly eyed boys.

Cool bishi's are welcomed however.

Example: Rain of Immortal Rain (Tall, intimidating but a big softie inside)
Roy Mustang of Fullmetal Alchemist (Army head but sensitive & pure/naive)
Soubi of Loveless (He's 6'3 bishi who's an abused wife to the antagonist)
Vincent Nightray of Pandora Hearts (He acted tough but his act fell off in the last arc)
Fai of Tsuba Chronicles (Standard bishi with one hell of a backstory)

It can be any other prominent character of the story too if not the protagonist himself. Can be a teenager too but one who looks his age, and not 10 yrs younger. No females please. I only want a male character.

Please include a little summary of character and genre of manga.

Holyland - mentor of protag. tough brawler but harbour a deep scar inside.
Angel Densetsu - evil looking, but actually have an angelic heart

Sakuragi from Slam Dunk fits this description pretty well, if you haven't read it yet. Sports manga. Fights a lot but sensitive & extremely innocent/naïve.

Sekine's Love - handsome salaryman in his late 20s with an icy exterior, but actually timid on the inside

Otomen The entire story concept is around the main character who appears cool and manly (i.e. captain of the kendo team etc) but is secretly very "feminine", goes sparkly eyed over shoujo manga etc.

Probably you read this already because it's a classic and very popular but the only one comes to my mind at the moment: Rei from Mars. Cool at the outside but kind, sensitive and weak( from his dark past). btw he is one of my alltime fav male protagonists.

Maybe the guy from A Fairytale for the Demon Lord. Despite who he is, he does everything out of love for the Princess, and basically gets used because said Princess, well..

Onizuka from GTO, kind of? (he's a pervert, but he's a virgin too xD )

Rak Wraithraiser from Tower of God? Badass looking gator. But a surprising softie when it comes to his team members.

I suspect Ashina Sun from Song of the Long March is slooowly getting there too?

God Kubera from Kubera also has looks really tough, but does things that are surprisingly sweet.

I'm really stretching it, but I really don't know that many examples.
